Works with the Group Product Manager (GPM) to develop and implement the strategic direction for the fused silica capillary product line as the owner of the P&L. Acts as a focal point for market knowledge, technical support, profitability, forecasts, and planning.

Responsible to develop a business plan to meet profit growth objectives and a customer engagement strategy for execution. The ideal candidate has a technical knowledge in a STEM field as well as an outgoing personality for the customer facing aspects of this role.

This position may have the opportunity for a hybrid location but the preference will be the candidate to be located in the Greater Phoenix area to be onsite on a regular basis. The Associate Product Manager will require travel to customers as needed (estimation 20-30%).

This specific Molex site (Polymicro) is one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of silica capillary tubing and specialty optical fibers, optical fiber and capillary assemblies, discrete microcomponents and quartz optical fiber ferrules.

What You Will Do

Under the direction of the GPM, reviews and prices quotations, enters pricing conditions into SAP, maintains margins on price lists and develops pricing strategies for new and existing products

Strives to be the global subject matter expert on fused silica for both internal and external customers

Manage new development activity or existing programs to extend and grow the life of capillary product lines

Interface with customers alongside an account manager as needed for key projects

Engage in supporting marketing activities including: sales tools, literature, distribution, stocking, training, and sampling

Support the GPM by developing and implementing strategic annual business plans, targeting markets, industries, and customers

Increase sales and market share of capillary product line in support of divisional objectives. Track progress to plan for revenue and profit

Work with GPM to improve profit and return on investment of capillary product line. Undertakes and leads cost reduction, capacity planning, and quality improvement projects

Learn the competitive landscape and threats from new products that could impact Molex market share

Explore new technologies and shares ideas of new product development or capability expansion to differentiate Molex product offering

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field

  • Two (2) years or more experience communicating with all levels of management OR two (2) years or more experience communicating with internal or external customers

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry

  • Experience with separations sciences technologies (GC, CE, MS, LC)

  • Experience in flow control, fluid dynamics, or working with medical devices
