Job Summary:

The overall purpose of this position is to facilitate the successful development, launch, and management of new products. The incumbent in this position is primarily responsible for both enhancements to existing IEEE offerings, as well as new innovative opportunities presented through a variety of mechanisms (including Industry Connections Programs, Solutions Team, Global Business Strategy & Development Team, etc.). The role typically reports to a Senior Manager of Opportunities (or Product) Development and manages no direct reports. This position works under consultative direction.

This position supports the commercialization of new opportunities management of existing products, solutions, and services. The Product Manager must be an effective communicator with the ability to work with all areas of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Product/Opportunities Development Support (75%)

  • Develops and maintains the commercializing opportunities team's products/solutions/services documentation, including: profit and loss statements, strategic assessments, development project status reports, processes and best practices, requirements, pricing sheets, roadmap, and portfolio "fact book,"

  • Project manages work plans for new opportunities development

  • Supports development of products, solutions and services

  • Performs customer and market analysis

  • Identifies and evaluates potential content providers

  • Performs analysis of competitive products

  • Supports Incorporation of competitive analysis into product development/management

  • Analyzes current market for trends, technologies and new opportunities

  • Reviews product specifications to ensure that they are functional accurate

  • Review and approve marketing collateral

  • To include coordination of product release notices

  • Researches and identifies potential production vendors/partners

  • Manages external vendors responsible for production/build

  • Manages All Product Reports

  • Provides regular and ad-hoc product reporting

  • Monitors and reports Product revenue and sales information

  • Provides regular reports to the team on revenue performance, by product

  • Suggests adjustments to the product plan based on performance

  • Coordinates plan adjustments with other OUs, as needed

  • Supports peer review process, when applicable

  • Supports acquisition process, when applicable

Product Financial Support and Analysis (25%)

  • Performs all IEEE-SA Financial planning support for the Product Team

  • To include Monthly Forecasts for applicable accounts

  • To include support of budgeting activities for applicable accounts

  • Assists his/her manager in developing pricing structure and maintains costing information

  • Coordinates contracts/agreements with content providers

  • Assists his/her manager in performing customer, sales and trends analysis

  • Assists his/her manager with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting activities

Develops, articulates and implements strategic direction for their product lines in support of customer experience business strategy * You will partner with regional BTLs, Shared Services and related PLO's to analyze business demands, recommend process and/or technology improvements, drive solutions, product releases, product lifecycle management while balancing expectations and demand * You will be accountable for optimizing product delivery through continuous process improvement, platforms, digital capabilities and reuse for consistent product development.
