Overview

W.B. Mason Company, Inc. is seeking a Product Manager of eCommerce to join our growing team. You will report to the IT Director of eCommerce Product Management to help bridge the gap between the business needs and the technical requirements for system enhancement projects & requests. You will work in partnership with business leaders to identify & implement solutions within our ecommerce applications and create next-generation site features. You will be responsible for the analysis of solution requirements, communication of these requirements to the development team, investigation of issues, and the facilitation of testing and ensuring quality of technical changes. You'll be joining a team of skilled professionals including .NET & Front-End Developers, Solution Architects, and Operational & Financial Product Managers. Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analysis and Requirements Definition

  • Elicit business and functional requirements from a diverse set of stakeholders and effectively compile and document these needs for systems design and development

  • Add value by understanding the business partners' needs and providing options and recommendations on how best to meet those needs

  • Distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs

  • Participate in solution definition

  • Validate that the requirements are covered by the solution

  • Participate in creating the test plans

  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing

  • Provide input to project plan and risk assessment

  • Work with User Experience Designers to draft user interface designs for new systems

  • Identify data requirements for new systems or system modifications

  • Participate in the solution architecture and technical design

  • Facilitate the decision process of build vs. buy and if buy, participate in vendor selection process

  • Adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Participate in Quality Assurance and testing of new applications

  • Occasional travel required (less than 5%) - primarily within the northeast U.S.

  • Occasional off-hours testing

  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, interpersonal and relationship management skills

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both technical and business settings

  • Self-motivated, creative, passionate and able to acclimate into a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of Systems Development Life Cycle, Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, Project Management, and Systems Analysis and Design

  • Self-directed and independent worker who can also lead cross-functional and cross-organizational projects

  • Familiarity with Relational Design, Object Oriented and Service Oriented Architecture is a plus

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent

  • Bachelor's Degree in technology-related discipline preferred

  • 2-5 years product management, business systems analysis, or related eCommerce business experience

  • Experience working on professional projects that involved the design, creation, and rollout of mobile applications (iOS and Android)

  • Demonstrated experience in business process development and improvement

  • Effective use of business modeling techniques: Process, workflow modeling and use cases

  • Experience in eliciting and documenting requirements resulting in quality deliverables with limited direction

  • Any experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or current technologies, such as .NET, React, or SQL is a plus
