Associate Product Manager - Clinical Diagnostics

LGC's Clinical Diagnostics develops and manufactures a comprehensive portfolio of catalog and custom-developed diagnostic quality solutions and component materials for the extended life sciences industry. We partner with IVD assay developers, and pharmaceutical, CRO and academic institutions in commercialization activities across the entire diagnostic pipeline - from concept and early stage research, through expedited product development and onwards into routine clinical use. Job Purpose:

The Associate Product Manager for LGC SeraCare is responsible for supporting the company's product lines including Performance and Linearity Panels and Disease State Material. Activities include portfolio and product lifecycle management, product commercialization, and marketing strategy and communications. This position ensures that budgets, timelines and performance objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complete lifecycle for assigned product lines, from commercialization through end-of-life.

  • Provide regular sales support, including support of custom opportunities and sales training.

  • Work closely with internal planning and sourcing teams to ensure product availability.

  • Create and maintain product technical documentation and customer-facing communications.

  • In collaboration with Marketing Communications, provide support for product launch activities.

  • Function as a Core Team Member for New Product Development initiatives, interfacing with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and Sales

  • Participate in VOC and market research efforts to refine customer personas and identify new product and business opportunities.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on product line financial metrics.

  • Attend and support key business events and trade shows.

  • Ensure internal stakeholders receive information necessary to meet their goals.

  • Promote an environment supportive of teamwork, positive communication, and respect.

  • Build strong relationships with sales, business development, technical and operations teams.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to comprehend and synthesize complex technical information to support decision-making.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex product portfolios and product lifecycles.

  • Effective analytical skills; prior experience with financial statement analysis preferred.

  • Experience utilizing basic Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills; experience presenting to senior leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others within a multidisciplinary team-based work environment.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related scientific discipline.

  • 2+ years of product management experience preferred. Opportunity for candidates in R&D or technical support in the biotech/life science industries to gain product management experience.

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams in support of technical products.

  • Experience with product launch execution and support.

  • Clinical diagnostic industry experience preferred.

With the growth in precision medicine, it is an exciting time for LC-MS in clinical diagnostics. For 10+ years, PCR-NGS techniques have been widely used for clinical diagnostics. Clinicians now want a real-time understanding of disease states, requiring a more complete picture of proteins, lipids, and steroids. LC-MS based assays are critical to provide this level of insight with their analytical specificity, sensitivity, and capacity to analyze simultaneously multiple analytes. Reporting to the Head of R&D of Clinical Business, the Project Manager will join a passionate, agile team to develop innovative solutions to address high unmet needs and establish Waters as the leader in clinical LC-MS diagnostics markets. Responsibilities * Lead cross-functional teams to successfully execute the R&D projects and new product introductions that provide end-to-end clinical mass spectrometry solutions for critical therapeutic areas including endocrinology, toxicology, oncology etc. * Implement project management methodologies, processes, and tools to deliver the R&D projects and new product introductions on target. * To lead diverse, multi-functional teams in the execution of complex global projects that deliver products consisting of fully integrated systems and IVD reagent kits. * Responsible for all aspects of Project Management for Product Delivery from concept to benefit realization within scope, managing schedule and budget and keeping key management stakeholders appraised on project status. * Proactively utilize project management best practices to ensure adequate planning, monitoring, controls and risk management activities are conducted. * Coordinate with professional functions to provide holistic approach that includes all factors pertinent to the project success e.g. legal, commercial, financial, health & safety, operations. * Manage all projects within the appropriate Waters governance framework and Lifecycle management processes. * Manage relationships with third parties and other external collaborators, tracking work and communicating accordingly. Qualifications * Extensive and demonstrable experience in leading and managing large complicated (multifaceted) IVD projects. * A recognized project management qualification (e.g. PMP) with a minimum of 5+ years' experience in leading teams and delivering projects. * Expert knowledge of the project lifecycle, techniques, appropriate methodologies and approaches (e.g. Agile, waterfall). * Ability to drive collaboration and decision making through the development of a strong team dynamic to foster alignment and commitment to shared goals and responsibilities. * Exceptional and well-practiced communication (verbal, written, listening), inter-personal and influencing skills at various levels of the organization. * Confident in effectively communicating and reaching agreement with stakeholders as well as navigating ambiguous, changeable, and complex environments to achieve desired outcomes. * Ability to distill and present complex data to inform and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
