Position Overview

The Associate Product Manager will assist in developing and implementing strategic and tactical initiatives for a key market segment on a global basis to help drive direction and growth.


Summary of Position with General

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates leadership within the Division Marketing department, takes an active role in day-to-day operations, and participates in product development activities for his/her business segment.

Essential job Functions:

  • Work with R&D to develop a strong portfolio of product development projects that support the strategic direction and grow the business.

  • Build relationships with and know key customers/distributors and major buying groups, and potentially observe medical cases.

  • Take an active role on product development teams as key participant.

  • Communicate with global marketing entities (directly and through international marketing).

  • Identify and communicate market trends to division management and internal "team."

  • Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive product marketing plans including strategic and technical components.

  • Forecast sales volume, monthly and long-term (18 months)

  • Budget administration (promotional and expense).

  • Understand and manage profit and loss for assigned product line(s).

  • Identify and develop marketing programs, sales tools and promotions.

  • Assist in preparing strategic plans.

  • Recommend product line modifications, extensions, new products and product deletions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • MBA preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of two years business experience required; prior marketing experience preferred.

  • Engineering or Clinical background with knowlegde of product development life cycle would also be a plus

  • Computer literate.

  • Proficient in MS Office

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate tools, controls and office equipment. Work may involve continuous computer use with repetitive motion to wrists, hands and fingers. The employee frequently is required to see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to bend, lift, reach or stoop.
