This position will enable profitable growth for the Biopharma Production business unit by assisting Product Management leadership with execution of operational and strategic initiatives. The Associate Product Manager will be responsible for supporting new business opportunities, product line profitability analysis, asset utilization optimization, demand forecasting, and project management for tactical / strategic initiatives.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Conduct market analysis, competitor analysis, market strategy, and product portfolio strategy for Bipoharma markets. Make recommendations to leadership with supporting data to develop and drive the product roadmaps and pipeline strategy for portfolio markets/products.
Provide support in the direction for product line rationalization and support to the supply chain group with implementation.
Establish close relationships with customers, field and inside sales to keep abreast of emerging market trends and opportunities.
Support timely execution of new product development efforts with focus on value capture and adherence to financial projections.
Work with marketing communications to develop clear and concise collateral (FAQs, presentations, case studies, white papers, etc.) to assist commercial team in communicating value to customers (both for existing products and new product launches)
Monitor the product margins ensure profit goals are met; develop and implement plans to optimize profitability.
Recommend pricing for products in the context of market and competitive conditions, value to customer, pricing strategy, geographic location, product cost, and internal (manufacturing) capability.
Work with the supply chain teams to align plant and supply chain efforts to achieve optimum return for resource deployment and provide prioritization where needed.
Guide supply chain and procurement teams on key supply issues while elevating recurring or high-risk situations.
Support monthly S&OP through product line forecast validation and aid in issue resolution.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office or manufacturing environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Occasional travel required.
Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) in Marketing, Finance, Communications, Sciences or equivalent.
1-3 years' experience working in the Biopharma Production industry to understand competitive landscape.
Five years' experience working with customers and cross functionally with R & D, manufacturing, regulatory affairs and sales. Previous experience identifying market opportunities and determining feasibility.
Experience and Knowledge in doing business with a good understanding of strategy development for the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Product management, marketing strategy and product launch planning skills will also be beneficial.
Must be Computer literate (WORD, EXCEL).
