DescriptionAn Associate Product Designer assists in creating visual representation for existing and new screens across the Paycom system. They work closely with their team members and Team Lead to produce quality Paycom standard mockups.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Translates design to layout, typography and visual hierarchy
Designs new components or patterns to the existing design systems and style guides to ensure a consistent Paycom experience for users
Partners closely with product and development teams to support design strategy
Follows existing design systems and style guides to create mock-ups that ensure a consistent Paycom experience
Uses research data, design principles, or other objective information to support and promote design decisions
Participates in usability testing and utilize usability data reports in designs.
Contributes to the Design team by participating in design-led projects and discussions.
Learns and executes already established design processes and frameworks
Works with Team Lead to navigate team and cross-department communication
Practices presentation and written communication skills
Shares work early and often, seeking out constant feedback from Team Lead, PMs, Devs, and other stakeholders
Works closely with their Team Lead to prioritize workload and deadlines and follows Team Leads design direction
Works with Team Lead or Design Mentor to solve complex issues
Seeks out feedback from Senior leadership to grow skills
Assists with special projects as needed

QualificationsEducation/Certification:

High School Diploma/GED

Experience:

0-2 years' experience in design, including multi-platform application, product, graphic design, digital media or related
Portfolio required for review upon interview

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in art, computer science, or technical field or equivalent practical experience in application or product design

Skills/Abilities:

Base knowledge in layout, typography, visual hierarchy, basic design principles, composition, and color theory.
Ability to create original, imaginative, and creative designs dependent on the project assigned
Some familiarity with user flows, cross-platform and information architecture
Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
Able to communicate effectively within the team
Mobile Interface Design across multiple operating systems
Ability to adapt to new programs as technology updates and changes
Possess high aesthetic sense for User Interface
Organized and Detail Oriented
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining organization and timely completion of projects
Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various departments
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision
Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligation
