A Little About Us

The Cloud Services organization is responsible for providing cutting edge self-serve, dynamic and elastic services enabling Yahoo developers to write and deploy code quickly, and deliver high performance and scalable services in a production environment. We are searching for an Experience Designer to help create our new generation of cloud products. Working closely with our Development Platforms Services team, you will be designing experiences across multiple platforms. You will play a key role in developing and executing creative strategy around user-centered design activities, mixing business and user goals to create awesome online experiences for our users.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about (and formally trained in) creating intuitive and engaging UI/UX products with a modern, balanced, clean and concise design sense. A technical background that would allow them to help take a project from concept to completion is a huge plus. Must be well versed in all aspects of user experience, well versed in agile development cycles, with comprehensive design portfolio.

This candidate will play a role in formulating, establishing and annotating the navigation, functionality, organizational structure, and page-to-page flows for the cross-device experiences. The role requires a balance of strategic and conceptual thinking, on top of strong organizational skills.

Well then you get that the best interactions aren't even noticed by a user because the design gets out of their way. We seek someone who loves getting in the weeds to smooth out existing interactions and invent new ones. You will be responsible for reimagining the user experience for Oath platforms.

You should be able to understand and articulate oath platforms users context, product requirements and translate that into compelling design flows.

You should posses sound knowledge in interaction and visual design concepts and principles, UI Design Patterns, UI prototyping and simulation tools/techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing user interaction models, workflows and user interfaces for platform-based experiences to enable Verizon Media Group/Oath developers to write and deploy code quickly

  • Experiment with new user experiences on top of the capabilities of platforms, and influence its roadmap.

  • Leading the definition of great UX throughout the product lifecycle, from initial explorations to final deliverables

  • Ensuring high standards of usability, consistency and clarity in design

  • Developing and presenting your design ideas

  • Producing layouts, user interface elements, design specifications and documentation

  • Working closely with the Engineering and Product to support UX implementation efforts

  • Using data to inform your design and working with your research partners to understand and interpret user feedback

  • Pushing the boundaries of what's possible to create delightful experiences for our users.

  • You Must Have

EXPERIENCE: Digital product design knowledge both mobile and desktop

EDUCATION: Undergrad with a focus in HCI, Visual Design or Graphic Design

CORE SKILLS: Interaction Design and Visual Design

NICE TO HAVE: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Adobe Web Suite, Axure, User Research Methodologies, Sketch
