The Associate Product Buyer assists the buying team with the selection of premium merchandise, gift card, promotional and recognition products to be offered to participants via the Outstanding Performances Catalog and/or custom client request for Incentive, Recognition or Event programs.
The Associate Product Buyer will manage the product and catalog processes within Individual Awards. This role works with members of the Buying team as well as our vendor partners to develop product for client specific catalogs or program opportunities. The role must support multiple system applications within ITA Group to coordinate the support of these products as well as maintain necessary product information for a successful operation of clients' programs.
Bachelor's degree in Purchasing or related degree.
0-2 years' experience in a retail purchasing environment in general product categories.
Experience in product detail analysis regarding performance, quality and pricing.
Ability to negotiate and work with a multitude of suppliers and manufacturers.
Excellent skills with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers' needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.
Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
