We are seeking an Associate Process Engineer to join our Scarborough, Maine team! The Associate Process Engineer develops and optimize economical industrial processes to make the huge range of products on which modern society depends. An Associate Process Engineer may work in small, medium and large businesses. The work is concerned with chemical and mechanical processes in which customer materials undergo change and involves scaling up processes from the laboratory into the processing plant. Responsibilities involve designing equipment, understanding the reactions taking place, installing control systems, and starting, running and upgrading the processes. Environmental protection and health and safety aspects are also significant concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • QGT/UCT Policy Training

  • QGT/UCT Safety Training

  • QGT/UCT Engineering Specific Training

  • Participate in Smelter rotation (1)

  • Basic knowledge in all process work stations

  • Logistics, PartSmart knowledgeable and hands on experience

  • Chem Line Orientation and hands on experience

  • Blast Line Orientation and hands on experience

  • Familiar with Clean room protocols (familiar with all CR CDI tests) and basic microcontamination knowledge

  • Coatings orientation and hands on experience

  • Perfect Qual Program and does quals under supervision

  • Participates in CAPA FOI FMEA investigation

  • Basic Semiconductor Process knowledge

  • Basic OEM platform and part knowledge

  • Understands basics of Chemtrace TM, Ionic, and organic analysis

  • Understands basic statistical analysis/SPC

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge in all process work stations

  • Basic PartSmart usage & Searches

  • Knows most chemistries for most films on most substrates

  • Knows most media/pressure combos for most Ra on most substrates

  • Familiar with Clean room protocols, and Micro contamination knowledge Can perform CR CDI testing

  • Basic Knowledge of Coatings

  • Basic understanding of semiconductor Process (PVD, Etch, ALD, Diffusion, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of OEM Platform and part knowledge (AMAT, LAM, ASM, etc.)

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

  • 1-2 years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry

Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking to hire a Senior Process Engineer to be based in Scarborough, ME. The primary role of the Process Engineer is to provide process engineering expertise from conceptual studies, feasibility analysis, project scope and estimate development, detailed design, start-up, system optimization, and trouble shooting. This position requires an experienced process engineer who will provide direction and coordination to other disciplines as the process lead. Your Key Responsibilities * Development of Conceptual and Detailed Designs, Feasibility Studies, and Front-End Engineering Studies. * Develop and or oversee the Fluid system design, including Process Flow/Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams and associated calculation development. * Development of GA's, equipment sizing and specifications/data sheets as well as review vendor submittals. * Work independently in the field to determine as-built conditions and design new project work in a plant retrofit environment. * Perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with some complex features for which there may or may not be precedents. * Collaborate on unusual technical or complex problems and can lead projects independently. * Performs assignments designed to develop project work, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. * Spending up to 25% of your time in industrial facilities working in the field and with clients. * Lead and support project proposal efforts by developing a process scope of work and process man-hour estimate. * Assure quality of design documents and process engineering deliverables. * Manage projects within budget and on schedule by interacting with Clients, project team members and management to resolve project hard spots. * Participate and provide leadership in Client and project team meetings to coordinate and/or resolve design problems as well as establish project objectives. * Prepare construction work packages. Your Capabilities and Credentials * Experience in Pulp and Paper Industry is required. * Experience to lead/mentor a team of younger process engineers. * Proven successful capabilities with client interface in both business and proposal development and project execution. * Proven history of leading the Process design effort on Pulp and Paper projects. * Possess a working knowledge of Industry standards and Process/Mechanical Engineering design principles. * Expert knowledge of the: * Ability to develop P&ID drawings. * Ability to develop Equipment Specifications. * Ability to provide input and develop general arrangements, isometrics and orthographic drawings. * Ability to prepare various mechanical schedules. * Ability to prepare heat and water balances. * Ability to work closely with designers to develop construction documents. * Ability to work within an interdisciplinary project team.
