Specific Responsibilities

Robert Graham is looking for a gifted, all-around Surface Designer with a mix of digital and hand drawn based skills. Must have between 3-5 years minimum experience and have an exciting portfolio, showing a wide range of work.


  • Complete proficiency in both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS6/Cloud. InDesign is a plus but not required.

  • Excellent illustration skills, both by hand and computer

  • Strong artistic background to create conceptual and final artworks, put patterns into repeat and create the necessary technical print development sheets to send to factories

  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail

  • Knowledge of all kinds of prints (digital, rotary/screen, heat transfer etc), patterns, and surface design techniques

  • Natural color sense and eye for detail & patterns for both men's and women's market

  • Strong communication, organization, and follow up skills

  • Pro-active, committed and passionate about their field

  • A creative contributor between all product/design categories

  • An ability to think outside the box and a sense for emerging trends

  • An optimistic attitude and works well as a team player

Skills and Requirements

Desired Skills:

  • Experienced in liaising with suppliers and factories

  • Hands on experience of textile and surface design

  • Typography art and T-shirt graphic design experience is a plus

  • Experienced in a PC based environment


  • Bachelor's degree in fashion design, graphic design, textile design or related field

  • Minimum 3-5 years previous work experience in a print/textile/graphic design related role

  • Experience with Computer Aided Design and/or graphic-oriented software applications

Dept Name- Print Shop REQ # 2527414 Job Title: Communications and Marketing Associate I Roles & Responsibilities: The Associate I prepares digital output from existing design or original design using prepress systems within the Printing Services Department. Major responsibilities will be to provide customer service to user base by working closely with clients to ensure design sufficiently meets brand standards for output and design of printed pieces. Serve as primary contact between client and vendor through bidding process to a select group of credentialed vendors, and assign jobs, input recharge costs and complete work orders. Maintain storefront system with up-to-date information, create schedules, and approve proofs, coordinate production to ensure delivery and distributions are completed as per agreed schedule with clients and vendors. Interact with supervisor, clients and vendor in preparing proofs. Complete all quality control processes from initial work order to final delivery of materials. ♦ Accept and preflight jobs via disk or hardcopy to printer-ready hi-res pdf artwork ♦ Obtain quotes from credentialed vendors, award project and follow-up until delivery ♦ Output proofs and print jobs to digital printers (color/B/w). ♦ Learn and utilize storefront system by adding jobs, sending for bids, awarding project to best competitive quote, upload files and assign for production ♦ Organize files to specifications for offset or digital printing output; proof files as to color or content breakdown ♦ Check all proofs for correctness ♦ Input all data required for documentation purposes ♦ Assume responsibility for quality checks, file correctness and proper layout. ♦ Assist management with customer service by answering phones ♦ Manage production and monitor volume of materials ♦ Make any changes or modifications to files as required by client or printing vendor. ♦ Notify management of inventory shortages ♦ Ensure complete usage of Print Requisition Form and Storefront system as related to work production and time management. Requirements: HS diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree, in marketing or related field preferred, Knowledge of Print Production requirements with a minimum of 2 years proficiency with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of other design programs a plus. Digital pre-press systems experience and/or equivalent preferred but will train. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail a must. Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and prioritize work until each job is completed.
