Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership, oversight, and support for the Lowery Freshman Center and Allen High School ensuring continuity of support services 9-12.

Qualifications: Education/Certification:

  • Texas Mid-Management or Texas Principal Certification
  • TTESS Appraiser certified

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Special Education, 504, ELL

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills

  • Demonstrates a passion for learning

  • Evidence of strong instructional leadership skills

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a classroom teacher, 5+ years' experience preferred

  • Successful experience as a secondary administrator, 3+ years' experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Works directly with Principals of Lowery Freshman Center and Allen High School to support the needs of students 9-12.

  • Coordinate, plan, and provide instructional and administrative leadership to staff and students in assigned special programs to ensure continuity of services 9-12.

  • Attend and participate in regular program meetings with district leadership.

  • Assess campus support services programs, staff, and student needs and work collaboratively with campus and district leadership to provide specialized training to meet the identified needs 9-12.

  • Evaluate support services staff as assigned.

  • Assess the needs of special population students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and collaborate with the CTE director to assist teachers in providing those services 9-12.

  • Ensure all school records and reports are maintained, monitored, and interpreted in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Assure appropriate behavioral assessments are completed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure timely and effective communications regarding incidents and/or situations.

  • Prepare information, documents, and materials required as a result of a complaint, mediation, or due process 9-12.

  • Gather appropriate data in support of the status of annual goals, objectives, and indicators of job attainment elements.

  • Actively seeks participation in professional learning activities to remain current on legal updates and instructional best practices.

  • Assumes the responsibilities as the instructional leader for the assigned department/subject area.

  • Conducts instructional learning walks to help assess overall strength of instruction.

  • Expects and supports innovative instructional practices in the classroom.

  • Expects and supports teachers working in high performing collaborative teams.

  • Develops and manages annual budget for assigned departments.

  • Assists in the development of the master instructional schedule for assigned departments 9-12.

  • Articulates and supports the campus and district mission for improving student learning 9-12.

  • Represent the campus at relevant local, county and state support services meetings.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the campus principal.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise and evaluate assigned staff.

Customer Care Skills:

  • Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times.

  • Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.

  • Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.

  • Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.

  • Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Must be able to manage simultaneous occurring projects, communicates effectively with the public

Salary: Pay Grade PG07, $476.70 - $564.87 daily rate commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule. Days: 226 Start Date: 2024-07-08 00:00:00.000
