Position Summary:

The Associate Power BI Developer (Commissions Specialist) will play a critical role in our Decision Support Center team, focusing on transforming commission-related data into actionable insights that support our sales and finance operations. This position is integral to ensuring that our commission structures are transparent, accurate, and optimized for performance.

As a Power BI Developer specializing in commissions, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions that streamline commission calculations and reporting processes. You will work closely with stakeholders across sales, finance, and human resources to gather requirements, develop robust data models, and create compelling visualizations that drive business decisions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your technical expertise and analytical skills to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our commission systems. You will be tasked with automating complex processes, enhancing existing reports, and providing insightful analysis that helps our teams understand and maximize their performance. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to reward and incentivize our sales force effectively, ultimately driving growth and profitability for the company.

Location:

This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid our of our corporate offices in Newport News, VA, in accordance with company policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and schedule interactive PowerBI reports and dashboards, ensuring consistency and accuracy with the commission plans.

  • Use Power BI, SQL, DAX, PowerApps, Power Automate and statistical techniques to analyze data, uncover trends, correlations, root causes, performance metrics, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, across all levels of the business, to gather and analyze business requirements and provide insights.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and performance issues, and continuously improve BI solutions and processes.

  • Suggest and recommend optimizations to data schemas and database structures for statistical analysis purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in: Accounting, Info Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

  • Intermediate to expert understanding and utilization of DAX.

  • Strong SQL skills for writing sophisticated queries and performance optimization.

  • 1-5 years of experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, critical metrics, and scorecards, with expertise in Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.

  • Experience in requirement analysis, design, and prototyping, with the ability to build data analytics models using Power BI, SSAS, AAS, Databricks 00and data flows.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and self-motivation.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Power Platform to automate reporting and processes and diagnosing and optimizing report performance.

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, provide technical guidance to junior developers, and support ad-hoc access to large datasets.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a focus on teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in PowerBI, SQL, Power Apps, Power Automate, or related technologies.

  • Experience with Python for data manipulation and analysis, and familiarity with Azure Data Factory and Databricks for data integration and analytics.

  • Business knowledge of Operations, Sales, Sales Commission structures and methods.

  • Pay Range:

  • $4,799.70 - $7,791.30

  • Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

  • This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
