Position Overview

Responsible for developing financial plans that deliver department objectives. Responsible for implementation of strategies for span of control to profitably drive business results while considering impact to division. Manage and plan merchandise inventory positions to drive departmental sales, inventory, profit and turnover objectives. Provide pre and in- season financial projections and strategies. Align Merchandise Assortment strategy with Financial Goals. Identify risks and opportunities to maximize profits. Contribute projects resulting in improved departmental systems and efficiencies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies by utilizing historical performance, current trend analysis, geographical/attribute based store research and cross-functional feedback

  • Communicate financial strategies in Business Reviews, Monthly Financial Review, and Assortment Strategy Meetings

  • Meet with cross-functional team to review business against projections, plans, and information weekly

  • Provide financial information while recommending actionable strategies based on current trends to drive business and manage inventories

  • Deliver strong presentations that clearly identify business opportunities/ issues and recommend actions/ solutions

  • Provide allocation team with direction and strategies to support financial goals

  • Manage team to ensure respective departmental strategies align to short and long term objectives

  • Assist planner with In-season Pricing and Promotion at style level

Assortment Planning

  • Assortment Planning tool / buy tool
  • FASHION
  • Quantify and ensure Assortment supports financial goals. Partner with buying counterpart on product ranking and work through assortment gaps/challenges

  • Manage clustering and attribute analysis

Inventory Management

  • Manage Key Item Planners (KIPs) to ensure that the flow of receipts supports the current and future business.

  • Maintain proper in-stock levels through KIP forecasting & allocation methodology

  • Own receipt reconciliation (Enterprise Planning)

Talent Management

  • Solicit Planner support when needed

  • Recognize and reward quality performance and teamwork. Celebrate success.

  • Lead by example, engage and inspire team

Process Leadership

  • Coordinate efforts of direct report to ensure consistency with departmental strategies

  • Develop and maintain cross-divisional peer relationships to share best practices

  • Identify and communicate opportunities where management support is needed on initiatives and strategies

  • Advocate for and integrate adoption of new technologies

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Education

  • Bachelor's (B.A. or B.S.)
  • 3+ years of experience

Required Skills

  • Proficient in retail math and cost accounting

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrates strong listening, written and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and accurate

  • Able to develop and maintain effective cross-functional relationships

Systems Knowledge

  • Computer proficiency (i.e. Office Suite); ability to learn technical applications quickly

Position Overview Support sales and profitability of the Polo Factory Stores – North America (PFS-NA) product line through contribution to Buyer's strategy and assortment development. Provide insight regarding general sales analysis, marketplace trends, and customer's needs, wants, and expectations.
