Description:
Are you an engineer who loves working on new technologies? We are growing our Cathode team with the addition of a forward-thinking and versatile associate particle engineer who is looking for technical challenges and professional growth. You will be delivering continuous cathode process improvements ane critical R&D solutions for QuantumScape solid state battery!
Responsibilities:
Spearhead the development, establishment, and scaling up of processes for all-solid-state battery electrodes.
Maintain control chart, monitor critical process parameters, and correct any issues after identification.
Continuously develop process procedures for improvement and maintain up to date standard operating procedures (SOPs). Lead in training sessions for engineers and technicians for any new process
Lead in new material verification
Evaluate new and existing equipment and develop for long-term machinery strategy
Assist in data automation and analysis for key process variables.
Participate in design and safety reviews to comprehend technical specifications of equipment.
Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate closely with internal and external collaborators.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or similar
Basic knowledge in statistics and/or process control
Hand-on experience in device fabrication and lab work
Ability to work in a dry-room with PPE
Ability to do occasional heavy material lifting up to 20 lbs
Rely on data to make technical decisions and ability to clearly explain technical issues
Excellent communication skills and record keeping skills
Well organized, attention to details and high project management skills
Love working closely with a team in fast-paced environment
Nice to Haves
Background in the battery industry
Strong background in data analysis and statistical process control
Proficient programming skills
Prior experience working within glovebox
This position is required to perform these above essential duties and responsibilities onsite at our QS offices.
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role is between $89,600 and $136,600 and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
