Job Description and Duties

ASSOCIATE PARK AND RECREATION SPECIALIST (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) - OHMVR DIVISION / HEADQUARTERS / GRANTS

The reporting location for this position is Headquarters in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general direction of Staff Park and Recreation Specialist.

Under the general direction of the Staff Park and Recreation Specialist, the Associate Park and Recreation Specialist (APRS) within the Off Highway Motorized Recreation Program though the Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program (Grants Program) will be the lead person for a regional portion of the State and become an expert in the field of Off-Highway Vehicle recreation including both cultural and environmental concerns. Will lead a group of Analysts and/or Specialists providing technical assistance to grantees in the development, operation, and management of local assistance funded OHV projects. In addition, the APRS will act as the liaison between various, competing interests such as environmental groups, off-highway clubs, and stakeholders.

Park and Recreation Specialist (1068) will also be considered for recruitment purposes.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

  • Operate and navigate 4x4 vehicles, ATVs, RUVs or motorcycles in remote locations over a wide range of terrain and for long periods of time.

  • Walking or hiking into remote areas with a wide range of terrain.
