Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Administrator I of the Bureau Analyst Resource Team (BART), you will provide program analysis to the Statewide Collection Bureau (SCB). Your primary focus will be on analyzing data regarding SCB program functions within the bureau while providing the most accurate up to date statistics, trend analyses, reports, and technical resources for tax and non-tax collection programs. You will work with the bureau director, section managers, and program managers to develop and maintain data required to facilitate collection program initiatives and goals. Your assignments also include making presentations, writing issue papers and procedures, and interpreting information from various external and departmental sources.

This position requires strong written, statistical, and program analysis skills, as well as knowledge of SCB programs, procedures and policies, related department activities, and economic trends that may impact SCB.

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.

  • Experience working with FTB systems (Taxpayer Information, Business Entities Tax System, Integrated Nonfiler Compliance, Accounts Receivable Collection System, Court-Ordered Debt, Delinquent Vehicle Registration, etc.) or other related systems.

  • Experience preparing charts, diagrams, tables and other visual aid to use in reports, presentations, and training.

  • Experience entering data elements into electronic spreadsheets, database, and Pivot tables.

  • Experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment while demonstrating initiative, flexibility, courtesy, professionalism and accountability.

  • Ability to follow direction adhere to procedures, effectively use resources and shift priorities.

  • Possess a minimum of two years college education.
