Summary:

Collaborates on project development from beginning to end and ensures completion successfully within the given deadline and budget. Follows through on pre-defined project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.

Assist with the development of full-scale project plans, project tools, financial plans, quality audit follow ups, and associated communications documents. In general, this person is responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of multiple, simultaneous projects ensuring consistency with UNCHCS strategy, commitments and goals.

Responsibilities:

1.Assist with the development of project plans, goals, and budgets identifies resources needed and develops schedules while maintaining optimum working relationships with all departmental units.

2.Assists with the preparation and dissemination of project communications. Communicates with project sponsors and functional area managers/directors regarding status of specific projects. Produces project reports for the project sponsors and management.

3.Collaborates on all phases of the projects to achieve schedule, cost and performance objectives, while maintaining the scope of the projects.

4.Coordinates effort and manages relationships with vendors and contractors necessary for any projects.

5.Performs analysis for the projects and develops objective means or status reports for assessing the status of the projects that are consistent with standard skills of project managers.

6.Prepares requests for proposals and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate selection of project services and products. Assists project team members and monitors project performance.

7.Responsible for program and project assignments working independently or collaboratively as appropriate to accomplish the assigned work. Identify issues and assist in developing strategies to address them prior to issues becoming critical. Keep management informed of project(s) status and any potential problems or political concerns.

Bachelor's degree in applicable field


Licensure/Certification Requirements:

No licensure or certification required.


Professional Experience Requirements:

One (1) year of professional experience in project management or program administration. Prior experience in quality improvement, strategic planning, or risk management preferred.

If Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Administration, no experience is required.

If Associate's degree, five (5) years of professional experience in project management or program administration.

If High School, nine (9) years of professional experience in project management or program administration.


Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of project management techniques and tools.

  • Experience in clinical research/study support/clinical trial operations highly preferred.

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION Summary: UNC Health is seeking a highly motivated project manager responsible for developing and managing project plans to ensure successful set-up and implementation of assigned projects for UNC Health's Virtual Care Center. The individual directs and manages project development from beginning to end; seeing that it is completed successfully within the given deadline and budget. The project manager defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. The program manager builds organizational relationships and collaborates with others to achieve successful project outcomes. This position will be a critical thinker who can create new or adapt existing processes that support project operations and execution. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for transforming care and driving exceptional patient-centered care. Description of Job Responsibilities: 1. Develops project plans, goals, and budgets: Identifies resources needed, develops schedules and methods for measuring results while maintaining optimum working relationships with all departmental units. Updates and implements the project work plan for various internal and externally-facing virtual care programs. Supports the team with integrated program and project planning: annual program planning, alignment of program goals with project objectives, revising and updating of tasks, timelines, and deliverables as appropriate. 2. Responsible for program and project assignments: Responsible for program and project assignments, working independently or collaboratively, as appropriate, to accomplish the assigned work. Identifies issues and assists in developing strategies to address them prior to issues becoming critical. Drives for successful implementation of solutions, including planning, education and assisting end-users with project go-lives. Learns workflows and solution technology/operations as necessary for executing job functions. Keeps senior management informed of project(s) status and any potential problems or political concerns. Provides day-to-day oversight of all aspects of various programs. Provides and ensures effective communication with all stakeholders, including status reporting, risk management, issue resolution among all internal and external stakeholders. Manages minutes, project plans, intranet updates, document updates. 3. Organizes/manages all phases of the projects: Organizes and manages all phases of projects, solutions and programs to achieve schedule, cost and performance objectives, while maintaining the scope of the projects. Monitors and summarizes progress of projects which include, but is not limited to: designing spreadsheets and other tools to manage processes and tracks progress against milestones and budget. 4. Prepares proposals: Supports proposal development and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate selection of project services and products. Assembles project team members; assigns individual responsibilities and monitors project performance. 5. Compliance, Risk and Reimbursement: Ensures all work is undertaken in compliance with security and privacy, including but not limited to IRB, HIPPA, etc. This position will collaborate with the various departments, leveraging internal expertise. 6. Communications and relationships: Plans and oversees the preparation and dissemination of project communications. Communicates with top-level management, project sponsors, and functional area managers/directors regarding status of specific projects. Produces project reports for the project sponsors and senior management. Cultivates relationships, manages and interfaces with project team members including internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that project goals are achieved. Coordinates effort and manages relationships with vendors and contractors necessary for any projects. 7. Budgeting: Supports the creation and updating of annual budgets, reviews monthly financial and labor reports, and ensures that the project's spending is aligned with available resources. 8. Strategic analysis: Informs strategic direction based on current projects and develops objective means or status reports for assessing the status of the projects that are consistent with standard skills of project managers. 9. Data Analysis: performs basic data analysis as required; works with data analyst and business intelligence analyst for more complex reporting to develop reports as needed. 10.
