Job Summary

The Associate National Account Manager will work in collaboration with and under the direction of the sales management team to support all activities relating to Mass Market and Club Sales. This responsibility entails overseeing a portfolio of brands, products, forecasts, promotional plans, and business development objectives

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic (20%)

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales strategies, programs, and plans that achieve the objectives of Mass Market Retailers and Spectrum Brands.

  • Develop and execute annual revenue and profit plan.

  • Monitor actual results vs. plan throughout the year, adjusting when appropriate.

  • Build collaborative relationships at all levels of the retailer's merchandising organization as well as internal business partners to facilitate growth objectives.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop/manage account specific promotional plans, coordinating with finance, trade marketing, product marketing and sales management to align with brand strategies and advertising plans as appropriate. Recommend opportunities to increase penetration, based on knowledge of the retailer.

  • Develop a business plan for new business, gain internal alignment, and quickly move to execution that results in new customers and/or business segments.

Tactical (40%)

  • Utilize fact-based selling skills to develop and present programs that focus on not only Spectrum Brands growth, but overall retailer growth. Strong presentation building skills are essential using MS PPT.

  • Manage SKU level profitability throughout the P&L.

  • Analyze syndicated data, customer POS and market data to develop plans that drive sales and market share. Very strong MS Excel skills are essential.

  • Conduct account business reviews and present them as appropriate to leadership.

  • Attend customer meetings, shows, and trade conferences as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with demand planning to determine account level sales forecasts.

  • Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and trends through field research and collaboration with other sales teams.

Support (40%)

  • Conduct necessary meetings (both internal and external) to communicate initiatives, provide or receive training, and the creation of action plans to accomplish company objectives.

  • Track progress towards achievement of quarterly and annual business plans.

  • Collaborate with cross functional leadership (Marketing, Operations, Finance, Sales) to achieve strategic business objectives.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field is preferred.

  • 1-3 years of relevant sales experience.

  • Expertise in Consumer Packaged Goods environment is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Superior communication skills; listening, presentation and written.

  • Strong business and financial acumen.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Products- Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills essential.

  • Working knowledge of syndicated data; Nielsen, NPD, IRI, and retailer systems such as Luminate, Retail Link, Partners Online, etc.

  • Experience working with e-commerce business and familiar with i360 item setup.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.

  • Experience working with the Club Channel required.

  • Strong analytical & project management skills with acute attention to details.

  • Conflict management / composure in a high-pressure environment.

  • Possesses creativity and passion to create exciting programs that drive incremental sales, reaching beyond current products and space.

  • Ability to quickly identify problems and recommend actionable solutions.

  • Desire for upward mobility, personal, and professional growth.

  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter within a team setting.

  • Proven ability to be a hunter for new business resulting in new customers or new segments.

Work Environment

Ability to travel as needed.

Working conditions are normal for a hybrid office environment.
