Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a Associate Medical Director - Visit Physician to join our team of professionals. We make a difference every day to patients and families coping with end of life illness in creating a center of excellence in hospice care.

Overview

The physician is qualified to provide inpatient medical care to hospice patients who require hospitalization for symptom management or respite care. The physician is committed to making hospice services available to all those who would benefit and participates in on-going educational programs to increase their expertise in caring for hospice patients. In addition, the hospice physician will work effectively and communicate well with the members of the hospice team and fulfill all other requirements of the position.

Qualifications

Is licensed to provide medical care and is a medical staff member in good standing with admitting privileges at least one hospital.

Complete the Seasons Hospice orientation for hospice physicians within six months of their effective employment date.

Demonstrated commitment to Seasons Hospice's philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture.

Responsible for assisting physicians in the examination and treatment of patients including patient interviews, measures vital signs (i.e.: pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records patient information accurately and appropriately in EMR and/or patients' charts. Also draws and collects blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. * High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, or GED required * Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification. Must have at least one of the above required licenses/certifications (MA, CNA, LPN, EMT) * If not a registered or certified MA, must obtain certification within 6 months * EKG and Phlebotomy Certifications are also required for employees with the CNA license only. CNA, LPN, EMT license must be from Florida. * Must be a professional, organized detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written). * BLS required * Possesses compassionate demeanor, excellent customer service skills and high ethical standards. * HIPAA/OSHA compliance required. * Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment efficiently. * Proficient in computer applications and typing skills. * Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. * Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines and Medical Terminology a plus.
