Insurance Confirmation Associate Opportunity

BAYADA Home Health Care, one of the nation's premier Home Health companies, has a full time opening for an Insurance Confirmation Associate in our Parsippany, NJ corporate office.

In this Associate role, you will learn the process of verifying new and existing client home care benefits. This includes gaining an understanding of medical insurance terminology, interacting with various insurance companies/payers, as well as handling benefits related correspondence.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 10:00am - 6:30pm with some flexibility as needed.

  • Verifying home health care benefits for new home care clients

  • Re-verifying benefits and eligibility for existing clients

  • Contacting insurance companies via phone and internet to obtain benefit & billing information

  • Documenting benefits and commuting benefits coverage info to internal service offices

  • Issuing financial liability letters

  • Assisting service offices with all benefits related correspondence

  • Working on special projects/initiatives as needed


  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience

  • Superb customer service and telephone skills

  • Strong follow up skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

Click here to learn more about Evonik from our employees As part of the Benefits Center of Excellence (COE), you will be the retirement plan lead and subject matter expert for all Evonik defined benefit and defined contribution plans, included tax-exempt and supplemental executive programs. You will also have some responsibility for legacy retiree health and welfare benefits. This role oversees all the vendors, data, technical, outsourcing and operational requirements to deliver retirement benefits to 4,700 active employees and 3,450 retirees throughout the US. Position will also have responsibilities to support benefits requirements for other countries as well such as Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica and South America. As part of the COE, you need to develop, manage, and leverage positive vendor relationships and help develop benefit strategy for benefit program offerings and delivery with the objective of ensuring high levels of performance and of delivering high value to Evonik employees. You will modify existing, or implement new, benefit programs, as required. You should proactively collaborate with internal and external partners to improve benefit delivery and increase benefit effectiveness. RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for: * Oversee all aspects and administration of Evonik's US Pension defined benefit (DB) plan, 401(k) defined contribution plan, along with all supplemental executive retirement and deferred compensation plans. * Manage and interact with all retirement vendors, including record keeper, trustee, investment advisor, retirement actuaries, ERISA attorneys, ERISA auditors, along with other external vendors * Serves as Secretary for ERISA governance committees, involving frequent interaction with executives and other colleagues outside the HR function. Organizes committee agendas, ensures minutes are accurately reported, and actions appropriately documented. * Oversees retirement compliance and reporting functions, which requires familiarity with ERISA, IRS and Department of Labor (DOL)requirements * Manages audit processes and annual reporting (Form 5500) for all Evonik retirement and health and welfare plans. * Assists in developing retirement strategy for transactions and implements projects associated with either acquisitions or divestitures, including interim solutions like transition service agreements. * Oversees all retirement plan service agreements, billing, and invoices * Maintains all retirement benefit plan documents and amendments and summary plan descriptions. * Works collaboratively with Labor Relations COE to assist with collective bargaining strategies and approaches * Ensures HRIS interfaces/data and processes are working properly between external vendors and HRIS/outsourced vendors. * Assists in assessing day to day vendor performance along with annual performance metrics and reviews. * Educates site HR and HR service delivery on key requirements of retirement benefits programs and serves as in-house retirement consultant. * Leads key benefit initiatives that impact participants and Evonik, such as cyber security REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree required. Masters or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits) certification preferred. * A minimum of 5 years of relevant retirement plan experience and oversight of similar size retirement programs * Working knowledge of laws, filings, and regulations relating to retirement and health and welfare benefit plans, such as ERISA, DOL, and IRS requirements. * Demonstrated success and experience in independently leading complex retirement plan initiatives and overseeing benefits operations and service delivery * Some familiarity with the complex benefit planning issues involved in acquisitions and divestitures. * Experience working with in-house and outside counsel, Finance, Comptroller, CFO, to ensure regulatory compliance of all benefit and HR programs. * Some familiarity with the complexity of global retirement programs and mobility.
