Marketing Associate - Job Description

Position Summary:

The LPL Financial marketing department is seeking an entry-level marketing associate with a digital marketing background. In this position, you will be assist marketing consultants who are the marketing point person for several LPL advisors. You will combine your knowledge of the web, social media and digital marketing with your business acumen to make marketing a part of several advisors' practices. You will execute the marketing consultant's digital marketing strategy for LPL advisors using email, social media, SEO, lead generation, websites and more.

Essential Functions:

  • Report to the marketing manager

  • Work closely with multiple marketing consultants.

  • Execute a digital marketing strategy for several LPL advisors.

  • Schedule content to be distributed by social media, email and blog.

  • Make updates to an advisor's website.

  • Collaborate with compliance to ensure content, brand and messaging are approved.

  • Implement lead generation and niche prospecting process and workflow for implementation in advisor's practice to drive business growth for advisors and LPL Financial.

  • Collaborate with the advisor's office staff to ensure cohesive messaging and communications.

  • Work with LPL current tools to integrate into overarching plan.

  • Provide feedback and enhancements from the advisors.

Job Requirements:

  • Either 1-3 years' digital marketing experience or a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or related field.

  • Solid understanding of ecommerce, PPC, SEO & SEM.

  • Solid knowledge of inbound marketing tools, and web management.

  • Working knowledge of web design principles, best practices, and content management platforms.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good understanding of digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Adwords, & Hubspot.

  • CRM experience preferred but not required.

  • Financial services experience a plus, not required.

VIEW JOBS 6/4/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-09-02T00:00 Position Summary: Reporting to the Director, Marketing Strategy, Analytics & Pricing, the Sr Staff Marketing Strategy & Governance Manager, partners closely with senior leaders (VPs and Directors) across Illumina Marketing to develop an integrated, prioritized Illumina-wide strategic marketing plan and support key marketing strategic initiatives. A key interface between Marketing leadership and Marketing teams, this role drives execution against the marketing plan, working closely with other Director and VP marketing leaders across the organization, to identify places where ROMI-based tradeoffs need to be made across the ecosystem. In addition, this leadership role partners with other functional senior leaders across Corporate Development, Strategic Planning, and Commercial Strategy to drive significant marketing transformation/enablement imperatives with interaction and visibility to the Illumina Executive Team. This role is inclusive of analysis, recommendations, and communications of key decisions and resourcing. Leadership across key projects and programs includes coaching/consulting prioritized segment teams and risk identification of cross-functional teams that are pan-Marketing and Commercial functions. Responsibilities: * Collaborates with Marketing Directors and VPs to develop an integrated ILMN strategic marketing plan in partnership with Marketing Strategy leadership * Develops cohesive strategic marketing plan with input and participation from marketing leadership and other key marketing COE constituents, to define how marketing will drive growth in line with ILMN corporate strategy * Member of strategic marketing planning team, and coordinates with Director of Business Development, Sr. Director of Corporate Development, VP of Strategic Planning) in Corporate Marketing & Communications alongside Segment Marketing Leaders, Corporate Strategy and Commercial Strategy to refine marketing strategy * Develops associated marketing budgets to serve Illumina corporate and segment objectives * Applies their background in biomedical science, as well as expertise in financial analysis and business administration to develop, design and implement long-term strategies and functional capabilities for Illumina's research and clinical market segments * Supports the socialization of strategic marketing plan components across ILMN marketing * Owns the development and review of marketing performance dashboard, in coordination with Analytics & Insight leader and Finance liaisons * Monitors compliance within marketing, in coordination with Finance liaison; raises issues to VP of Marketing Strategy * Serve as strategy consultant and thought partner for prioritized marketing segment teams, both Segment Marketing and Market Development * Acts as a consultant/coach to Segment Marketing and Market Development Leaders in development of respective segment 3-5-year strategies and 1-year action plans * Consolidates requests and proposals from assigned prioritized marketing teams, prepares them for review & decision by MAC/eMAC, and reports out to the teams * Identifies and recommends solutions for issues with performance, compliance, risk management, or budget in partnership with Director, Marketing Strategy * Serves as one of the primary interface points between Marketing and Corporate Strategy and Business Development, and similarly for Commercial Strategy * Communicates with the R&D product teams and leadership to develop marketing strategies for products within research and clinical customer segments * Collaborates with other functions to determine how Marketing will support organic & inorganic growth levers * Provides marketing input to ILMN strategic planning process * Provides recommendations to address key Marketing topics and partners with Senior leadership on significant transformation projects/programs * Identifies and recommends best practices for Marketing strategy. Requirements: * Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience. Degrees in translational Life Sciences (stem cell, cancer biology, immunology) preferred. * Deep knowledge of ILMN customer segments, with 2-4 years of experience using ILMN's products (library preparation for NGS, DNA/RNA assays, bioinformatic analysis) * Experience in human immunology and viral genetics analysis highly preferred as this role has the potential to work in Covid-19 related projects (peer-reviewed publications in the field are highly encouraged) * Prefer a minimum of 4-5+ years of strategy and innovation consulting/investment banking experience * Demonstrated ability to drive business results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment * Life sciences, molecular diagnostics and/or healthcare industry experience * Deep understanding of genomics, transcriptomics, and sequencing technologies. Familiarity with the technical and commercial challenges of using molecular biomarkers for clinical research. * Strong communication and presentation skills with keen business acumen * Proficiency in science communication, as this role requires explaining complex scientific ideas to the marketing team and leadership, as well as to clients and to the general public * Ability to think and plan strategically and balance that with execution and delivery * Ability to facilitate and communicate: * Upwards to senior leadership * Laterally to others across the Marketing ecosystem * Downward throughout the organization * Track record of successfully delivering results across organizational boundaries.
