Position Description

The Associate Market Manager's primary responsibility in his assigned territory is to initiate, develop and maintain a high quality portfolio of hotel products (i.e. relevant, attractive and competitive) for Expedia's fast-growing global customer base. In doing so, Associate Market Managers will also continuously work with their hotel partners to help them maximize the production potential from their participation in the Expedia marketplace by smartly utilizing the power of Expedia LPS' unique data insights, marketing, distribution and revenue management toolset.

Position Responsibilities

Consistently leveraging data specific to their market available in Expedient, Expedia's proprietary market insights and activity prioritization dashboard, and leveraging their local market knowledge, Associate Market Managers will:

  • Build and progressively expand their portfolio of local hotel partners by introducing prospective high potential partners to Expedia's global value proposition and facilitating their onboarding process

  • Develop and sustain strong partner relationships by providing relevant data insights and superior consulting services to hotel partners (revenue management advice, marketing opportunities on the Expedia marketplace)

  • Ensure that their partner hotels' product (content, rates and availability) is consistently optimized and competitive on the Expedia sites to maximize customer conversion

  • Secure additional inventory over high demand and compression periods to satisfy customers' pressing needs

  • Secure seasonal deals, evergreen and dynamic promotions within the guidelines set by Management to support the brands' merchandising and marketing efforts.

  • Continuously promote to and develop hotel partners' high engagement with Expedia's full suite of:
    1.Unique market insights (partner reports, competitive data, key performance drivers)
    2.Revenue management tools (dynamic promotions, packages, fenced deals, mobile)
    3.Marketing and merchandising opportunities
    4.Specialized brands (e.g. Egencia, Hotwire, Media Solutions) potential opportunities
    5.Self-service tools (Expedia Partner Central), Connectivity solutions (Expedia Quick Connect) and key support functions (Property Assistance team)

  • Execute effectively based on KPI metrics (targets, goals and/or strategic objectives) set by LPS leadership

  • Other reasonable duties, as assigned

This role focuses on the core of the Market Management's team responsibility, which is to ensure that Expedia's brands' global customers always find the most suitable hotel for their dream trip wherever they want to go, and that our hotel partners can effectively, efficiently and throughout the year, reach Expedia's unique breath of global traveler demand.

Supervision To Be Exercised: None

Supervision To Be Received: Direct supervision from Area Manager or Senior Market Manager.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree; major in tourism or hospitality a plus but not required

  • 1-2 years' experience

  • Minimum travel of 50% will be required for market visits

The scope of this position includes deploying a comprehensive reimbursement strategy for the Infectious Disease (ID) portfolio in the US which includes the leading the point-of-care (POC) molecular platform ID NOW. The Market Access Manager - West will be responsible for executing on the broader reimbursement strategy by developing regional/local reimbursement initiatives in conjunction with KOLs and the field sales team. The ID products are currently utilized across market segments: health systems, individual hospital and physician office, urgent care, retail health with pharmacy emerging as potential site of testing. This individual will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and field resource for their region on reimbursement related activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Engage directly with payors in assigned Region to effectively communicate the value of ID portfolio to secure favorable reimbursement policy decisions. * Support field team in identifying clinician advocates (KOLs) to support and further IDDM initiatives impacting payors, associations and government policy. * Develop regional Market Access reimbursement strategy by key product areas, including molecular and lateral flow technologies by analyzing data from varied sources to inform comprehensive strategy and to build organizational alignment. * Execute on payor advocacy efforts in coordination with local/regional ARDx and IDDM cross-functional and Abbott cross-divisional teams in territory. * Participate in third party support initiatives with established companies and organizations including CodeMap, leading outside reimbursement law firms, and industry coalition advocating the value of point-of-care (POC) testing. * Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with local sales organizations (Regional Directors) to align on deliverables and needs for the markets for both current and future products. * Contribute to the broader IDDM organization as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the US reimbursement landscape across the broad continuum of sites of care. * Field based position requires someone that collaborates well cross-functionally. Position will require frequent travel throughout territory. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Seven years of relevant industry experience. Demonstrated understanding of the varied payment models utilized at the sites of care for the ID portfolio.Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to create and deliver professional, and impactful presentations.Strong multi-tasking and project management skills needed.Demonstrates understanding of the applicable industry regulations and quality management systems including approved product labeling.
