Provide support for all changes and improvements associated with assigned components, assemblies, and/or systems in a multi-functional team environment. Serve as the interface between technology, quality, and manufacturing to improve in all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and new product introduction. This role is bases in Decatur, AL and is 100% onsite.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Quickly develop the ability to guide the analysis, design, test and/or integration required to define and support the assigned components and assemblies that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product/program requirements.

  • Assist with leading efforts specifically with all Sealed Systems, Product Performance, and related changes.

  • Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

  • Provide timely communications on various levels of any significant issues or developments.

  • Interface with Shop Operations, Quality, PMQE, Sourcing, Engineering and other disciplines as required.

  • Participate in technical and program reviews.

  • Solve problems of limited scope and complexity.

  • Participate in Lean activities to support and promote the business directives and growth.

  • Strive to support innovative designs or problem solutions with Six Sigma quality capabilities and/or utilize Six Sigma tools to improve current business products and processes.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or fourth year engineering student with experience required. (Degree must be in an engineering, mechanical, electronic, or related field).

  • Minimal one year experience in manufacturing/operations roles within GEA, including co-op experience.

  • Effective written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with the design, test and analysis tools relevant to the function

  • Advanced computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to grasp new systems quickly.

  • Strong project management and analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate & implement solutions.

  • Ability to obtain Green Belt certification

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environment.

  • Work may involve lifting materials and product up to 50 pounds

  • Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots

  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work

  • Travel up to 5% may be required
