Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Salt Lake City, Utah.

As a member of the Systems Manufacturing Engineering team, you will support manufacturing operations to produce precision, high-quality, inertial measurement and navigation systems. These systems are deployed in multiple applications including land vehicles, aircraft and satellites.

Roles and responsibilities include the following:

  • Frequent interaction with production operators to understand and troubleshoot manufacturing issues or gather inputs on process improvement suggestions

  • Investigation of production issues to determine root causes and taking action to address material deficiencies, equipment malfunctions and assembly process errors

  • Providing manufacturing representation and inputs for supplier capability assessments

  • Developing and improving manufacturing processes and defining the sequence of operations for build instructions

  • Utilizing SPC and data driven methods to drive process, yield, and cost improvements

  • Evaluating new designs and collaborating with design and materials engineering to ensure manufacturability

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education / Experience: 1+ Years with Bachelor of Science Degree in physics, engineering or other STEM related discipline

  • Internship or school project experience related to technical design, assembly processes, or problem solving

  • Able to perform basic troubleshooting of production issues related to process, equipment, or materials

  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and parts lists

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project)

  • Able to collaborate in a team environment and consider different viewpoints

  • Able to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result

  • Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously

  • US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with computer aided design tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Project management skills (work breakdown, task planning and scheduling etc.)

Salary Range: $56,600.00 - $85,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
