Environmental Sustainability Associate Manager
About the Role
Sustainability is a core value at Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (WSI) and encompasses our environmental and social commitments and goals. The Sustainability Associate Manager position is focused on driving and supporting WSI's environmental impact. As a Sustainability Associate Manager, you will play a key role in the research, development, and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives, engagement, education, and environmental performance of our own operations and supply chain partners. The ideal candidate brings a combination of experience, analytic capabilities and superb interpersonal communication skills. You will drive projects to completion and have the capacity to work with external and internal cross-functional teams and business managers through a structured approach, while managing day-to-day program operations.
Responsibilities
Support the implementation of WSI's carbon emission reduction plan and keep our strategy roadmap on track to meet WSI's Climate goals.
Maintain GHG emissions data across all categories (Scopes 1-3) utilizing 3rd party platforms and in-house analytical tools
Analyze renewable energy and efficiency opportunities for ROI and potential contribution toward our goals and make recommendations
Generate regular reporting on progress toward climate goals for a variety of target audiences
Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting for high-impact projects such as WSI Science-Based Target and Landfill Diversion goals. Ensure compliance with industry-leading reporting practices and regulatory requirements.
Develop tools and resources to educate, empower, and influence internal cross-functional partners, WSI's vendors, and sourcing offices to meet WSI's Environmental Sustainability programming and targets
Support the development and implementation of WSI's Preferred Materials Framework across brands (contributing to reducing emissions in Scope 3). This includes working with industry membership organizations, 3rd party technical platforms and creating criteria for material vetting and inclusion.
Manage partnerships with certification standard-setters and membership organizations. Stay current on all certification updates, policies and requirements. Provide regular communication to Sustainability team and internal teams on certification updates/changes.
Complete certification applications and renewals. Coordinate and support certification audits. Develop and maintain budgets for certifications including invoice approvals and processing.
Research and recommend best practices within the area of environmental impact and benchmark prevailing trends
Lead trainings and working groups with internal and external partners on Environmental sustainability initiatives, including target-setting with suppliers in alignment with WSI's climate goals
Assist with special projects and research to advance Sustainability team goals and objectives
Update and maintain internal Sustainability resources and tools online and within other channels across our global operations.

Criteria
1-2 years of Environmental Sustainability experience- Climate & Energy preferred
Proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint
Experience managing data and providing analytical reports
Capable of managing simultaneous projects in a dynamic environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism
Self-starter who proactively anticipates business needs
Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Studies or a related field preferred
This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office

The expected starting pay range for this position is $71,000-$82,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
