Our state-of-the-art facility was built in 2011 and showcases the manufacturing area in the center of the building, bringing focus and attention to our mission-critical products and manufacturing talent. The L3Harris manufacturing area includes; temperature and humidity controlled assembly areas, ESD sensitive floors, DOD Secret cleared rooms, a Test and Integration tower, Optical and Laser test ranges, Environmental and Qualification Test capabilities, Hydrostatic pressure test systems, an anechoic test chamber, 1,800 sq ft of clean room space for FOD-sensitive optical assembly, and more! The facility also features an open-office work environment and a full-service eat-in caf!
At L3Harris we develop submarine periscopes and stabilized imaging systems for marine applications. Our software engineering team is responsible for software requirement development, software test and integration, embedded code with C#, Linux based development for GUIs and system control. Assist with managing and directing the day to day activities of the Software Engineering Group, make individual work assignments, monitor individual performance and provide technical direction to individuals in the Group and to program teams. Perform difficult work on highly technical or involved projects. Review and approve formal documentation for release. Estimate labor, capacity, tools, equipment and other resources to operate and adhere to budget and schedule commitments
Assist with managing and directing the day to day activities of the Software Engineering Group and make individual work assignments.
Monitor individual performance and prepare formal Performance Appraisal Reports.
Be capable of executing all the duties of a senior Software Engineer.
Review and approve formal documentation (PLM, Assembly Instructions and Electronic Assembly Instructions, etc.) for release in accordance with internal standards.
Provide technical direction and oversight to individuals in the Group and to program teams, insuring high standards of technical competence and achievement.
Estimate labor, capacity and other resources as required to operate and adherence to budget and schedule commitments.
Define capital, tools, equipment and other resources required by the Software Eng. Group
Prepare and deliver technical presentations to management and customers
Ensure quality through group adherence to the Quality Systems Manual and Standard Work Instructions and other internally or contractually invoked standards.
Experience with EVMS / CAM Duties
Experience with Software Project Tracking using Earned Value Methodologies.
Participate and Lead Software Estimation for Proposals
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor of Science - Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering; Master's Degree preferred
Minimum Experience Required: 7+ years Software Engineering experience
Successful candidates must meet eligibility requirements to access US classified information
