Under general direction from the payroll director, the payroll analyst oversees payroll administration. The payroll analyst is responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization's payroll processing objectives, including relationships with external auditors and state and federal agencies. The majority of the employee's time is spent coordinating with external departments and vendors, ensuring employee tax compliance and generating year end/quarter end filings. This position requires an extremely detail orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations and benefit tax implications.
Daily activities to include the following:
Review of equity files and managing manual tax deposits
Review of relocation files ensuring tax compliances
Assisting employees and HR with state/local tax set ups
Biweekly activities to include the following:
Review of complex payroll transactions
Managing employee repayments and ensuring appropriate payroll actions are taken to balance federal, state and local taxes
Reviewing ADP tax software for payroll tax errors
Balance adjustments, payroll voids and reversals
Monthly/Quarterly activities to include the following:
Coordination with analytics team to ensure accurate payroll account reconciliations
Submission and balancing of quarterly data
Perform various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support.
Annual activities to include the following:
Coordinate with corporate finance, accounting, legal and HR to prepare for year end activities
Maintain and execute year end testing plan
Provide support to tax advisor for international employees
Produce W2s and manage W2c process and all amendments
25% travel to Melbourne, FL may be required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
6+ years' relevant experience, to include:
3+ years of multi state payroll tax experience
At least 1 year of mid-level compliance work
Experience with international travelers
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently and be a collaborative team player
