We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead, support, and manage a team of supervisors, technicians and associates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate is a self-starter with strong leadership capabilities that can manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time. This leader will build a team that can work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and other departments, in leading Non-Conforming Material initiatives.

  • Align projects to drive department goals by managing operations and driving metrics in critical areas of the Manufacturing floor

  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization via FPY yield improvement projects, scrap reduction projects, and excursion root cause analysis while developing & maintaining Standardized Manufacturing Instructions used in repair and rework by the NCM team members

  • Build a strong, motivated team capable of consistently delivering high quality products against aggressive metrics

  • Ability to mentor and develop a strong team through selective recruitment, thorough and consistent on-boarding process, training, and coaching, and identification and addressing of competency gaps within team

  • Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, NPI, MRB, Production and other teams to define, and track new or modified processes and all associated work instructions, tools, materials, and training

  • Management of team includes proactively planning for labor needs in light of production ramp up, communicating job expectations, performing employee performance and objectives reviews, and managing team in alignment of company policies and procedures

  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations

  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high-volume manufacturing setting and experience in selecting and developing new team members

  • Proficient in lean manufacturing methodologies and leadership and ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)

  • Strong analytical capability and familiarity with analytical and statistical software systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for both learning systems quickly and teaching them to others

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence in presenting to upper management

  • Demonstrates adherence to EHS regulations and standards and leads by example

  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills; able to interface with executives and leaders on a daily basis

  • Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
