Job Description: Life Storage is a leading self-storage provider that manages more than 700 facilities in 28 states with over 1,800 employees.

As an Associate Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Renting self storage spaces & selling our store merchandise

  • Providing great service to new and existing customers

  • Accepting monthly payments and making bank deposits

  • Keeping the property and office clean and tidy. You will be able to walk around the property performing lock checks and showing off our units to customers. This isn't just a desk job.

  • Other general office duties

  • Every employee must to submit to a background check

  • Some of the physical requirements of the job include daily walks of the property, cleaning the units and the property, opening and closing the storage doors (up to 50 lbs), and similar light activities. These are necessary to do this job.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Customer Service: • Provide a positive representation of Pinnacle Peak Ace & Paint. • Proactively assist customers in solving problems. • Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store. • Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. • Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively. • Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management. • Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products. • Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time. Store Operations • Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment. • Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store. • Assist with maintaining back stock levels. • Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area. • Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise. • Assist with merchandise resets through the store. • Provide assistance to Department Specialists, i.e. price changes, special orders. • Ensure signage is current throughout the store. • Operate forklift with proper training. • Communicate any Store Support Center issue to Store Manager for follow up. • Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to Store Manager. • Participate in store meetings. • Be professional in appearance and actions. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Education/Training High School or GED equivalent. Experience Formal retail experience preferred. Physical Demands Standing, walking, lifting (up to 40 lbs) and climbing. Requirements Summary of Job: - Must be able & willing to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, & holidays - Must have prior knowledge of some of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, lawn & garden, pool care, paint, general fix-it knowledge/general tool knowledge, or cleaning. - Day-to-day consists of assisting customers, stocking inventory, inventory counts, creating displays, and leading others in a positive & upbeat manner! • Posses a vast product knowledge of hardware/handyman related products along with a willingness to learn. • Experience: Sales experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers on the sales floor a plus.
