This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage product development group, Transcatheter Mitral & Tricuspid Therapies (TMTT), focused on developing solutions for patients suffering from structural heart disease. We are looking for a passionate Associate Manager to support preclinical and early-stage clinical new product development (NPD) programs.

  • Drive development and improvement of imaging modalities (CT, echocardiography, angiography) and techniques to support transcatheter structural heart therapies through collaboration key opinion leaders, external partners, and internal team members

  • Analyze, summarize, and present clinical imaging (e.g., CT, echocardiography, MRI, angiography) to provide inputs that support new product and procedure development and to support event investigations

  • Support development of imaging protocol for new and iterative products and procedures

  • Collaborate and provide recommendations to NPD team to ensure design allows appropriate imager usability

  • Create training content relevant to imaging procedures or image analysis for internal and external stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred degree in Physics or Ultrasound Imaging OR Bachelor's degree in biological or life sciences, animal science, or other related scientific or technical field with 5 years of previous in-hospital and/or industry related to imaging or equivalent certification with 7 years of previous related experience required

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

  • Able to create professional presentation content

  • Able to effectively guide and instruct other imaging specialists in clinical settings on effective imaging equipment operation

  • Requires strong diplomacy, influencing and relationship management skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Must be able to work in a team environment, fostering collaboration between inter-departmental teams, HCPs and KOLs

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Knowledgeable in US and international medical device regulations, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, electronic data capture systems, documentation management systems

  • Substantial technical knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and concepts relevant to cardiovascular imaging

VIEW JOBS 11/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-08T00:00 The Edwards Lifesciences Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) program is focused on design, development, testing and clinical implementation of heart valves, delivery systems and accessory products. An R&D Technician is a key contributor to the design, testing, and preparation for clinical use of TMVR devices (implants, delivery systems, and/ or accessories). Job titles for an R&D Technician progress from Technician, to Senior Technician, Technologist, Senior Technologist, and Staff Technologist. Job responsibilities of an R&D Technician include but are not limited to: * Supporting R&D Engineers throughout the design and development process. * Brainstorming and evaluating concepts to bring an idea to new product development designs. * Applying mechanical principals to the design and development of components for the Delivery Systems, Implants and/or accessory devices. * Building prototype devices for design evaluation and concept selection. * Performing accurate measurement and testing techniques utilizing calipers, micrometers, microscopes, rulers, optical comparators, vision systems, video comparators, tensile testing systems (Instron), inspection tooling and fixtures. * Assisting in developing test methods and procedures to evaluate device prototype performances and developing specifications to evaluate device performance against design requirements. * Performing feasibility testing to develop and verify device function. * Training manufacturing assemblers and assisting in developing Manufacturing build procedures and in design for manufacturability. * Performing Design verification testing and assisting in other engineering tests and animal studies. * Maintaining accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and procedures with good documentation practices. * Remaining up to date with training to TMVR Quality System requirements, and in compliance with safety policies and procedures with Lab Equipment and Testing.Ensuring that equipment used for R&D testing is appropriately calibrated and maintained. * Supporting manufacturing and operational activities, including: manufacturing processes, tooling, training and troubleshooting. * Interfacing with R&D Engineers and other technicians, Manufacturing, and Quality, to ensure compliance with internal procedures and Protocols. * Familiarity with viewing, reading, and potentially creating parts/assemblies using Solidworks and/or Creo2 (ProE) #LI-BV1 #AS Qualifications: * The Technologist requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience. * A High School Diploma is required. * An Associate's Degree or 4 year degree will offset some years of experience. Experience to include the following: * Must be highly motivated, passionate, and able to tackle challenging technical problems * Catheter prototyping and development experience required * Experience with manual catheter assembly and prototyping techniques is essential * Experience in device and/or material testing is a plus * Candidate must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision * Candidate must have a strong mechanical aptitude and flexibility to work in a dynamic work environment * Basic machine shop skills are a plus (mill, lathe, laser welding) * Solidworks experience is a plus Edwards Lifesciences Corp Irvine CA
