Primary Duties:

Qualifications:

  • Retail or Customer Service experience preferred

Education:

  • High School graduate/Equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate with customers and associates in person and via e-mail and telephone.

  • Ability to intermittently lift, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires standing and moving for an entire shift.

  • Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl and/or twist.

  • Ability to safely climb up and down a ladder.

  • Ability to become forklift certified and physically able to operate a forklift in accordance with IIPP.

Availability:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays, overnights and weekends as necessary to meet the needs of the retail business.

  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

The successful candidate will be in charge of monitoring grant budgets and sub-recipient expenditures - an integral part of completing federal reporting to the US Department of Education. Budgeted Salary Range: $16.108 - $18.520 This range is based upon available budget funds. Examples of Work * Monitors federal grant funds and program expenditures and provides budget management support to the Director of Adult Education. * Assists with state and federal fiscal and data monitoring and reporting. * Reviews sub-recipient activities and expenditures for compliance with approved budget activities. * Generates and routes letter contracts for state leadership activities. Processes attendee stipends and travel expenses and enters payments into accounting system. * Updates local program forms yearly, enters requests for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and tracks expenditures throughout the life of the grant. * Assists with on-site monitoring of sub-recipient programs. * Provides information and technical assistance to local program staff and other NDE staff related to Adult Education. * Assists with processing payments to eligible High School Equivalency programs. * Collects and summarizes program information, calculates expenditures, and ensures accuracy to assist with federal reports. * Possesses a valid driver's license, travels independently, and works in a variety of settings. * Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Other Duties and Responsibilities: * Processes quarterly claims for reimbursement from programs. * Prepares and routes RFPs to appropriate programs. Assists with processing and review of RFPs, and sends Intent to Grant letters. * Sends Grant Award Notification (GAN) documents and materials and generates budget spreadsheets. * Serves as backup for the GED® Associate. Qualifications / Requirements Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent combination of education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and knowledge of Adult Education programs and experience with fiscal and grants management. Proficiency with a variety of software programs including Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel) and Adobe Professional. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge: * Adult Education and Family Literacy Act and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. * Accounting and record keeping principles and practices. * Adult Education program information and processes. * Federal and state statutes and regulations related to Adult Education (e.g. Rule 81, 82). * Contract and grant procedures. * Formats used in written business communications. * English grammar, spelling, and composition needed for correspondence. * Computer software necessary to carry out job responsibilities. * Types and uses of office equipment. * Office management principles, methods, and procedures. * Established policies, procedures, practices of the Nebraska Department of Education.
