Job Description:

The program's metacognitive approach has been a model for over 50 years. The Program for Advancement of Learning (PAL) is seeking a candidate to instruct these students using strength-based, humanistic/holistic, developmental, and motivational approaches.

The PAL Department at Curry College invites applications for part-time faculty to join our distinguished faculty at the Associate Lecturer rank. The candidate will meet with each student for 2.5 hours per week either one-on-one or in small groups.

The successful candidate should be able to address current department needs and goals, which include expertise in dealing with issues such as: co-morbid disorders that accompany learning differently, knowledge in educational assessment and cognitive testing, and a current understanding of laws that govern adults with disabilities. Faculty would be expected to advance program goals through metacognitive and transformational teaching and learning. The review of applications will begin immediately.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have experience working with students with learning differences to increase metacognitive awareness, enhance self-regulatory skills and behaviors, enhance receptive and expressive language skills, improve, and utilize critical and creative thinking skills, and to become more active and engaged learners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional Information:

Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, Curry College will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity. Together, our community strives to create and maintain working and learning environments that are inclusive, equitable and welcoming.

At the College's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the College, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Employment in this position is contingent upon the successful completion of all required pre-employment background checks.
