Associate Lab Manager, Cellular Engineering (Contractor)

The Role:ElevateBio is looking for a part time Lab Manager for the Cellular Engineering Team. This individual will work closely with scientists and operations teams to help support the general organization and operations of the R&D lab. An ideal candidate is organized, highly motivated, and ready to adapt and learn. Candidates interested in science and operations will excel in the roll and have many opportunities.

Here's What You'll Do:

Support day-to-day lab operations across the team (organization, sample management, supply chain issues, equipment resources, IT, health and safety initiatives)
Work with facilities to coordinate and schedule equipment installation, qualification, calibration, repair, and PM to minimize equipment down-time.
Regularly interaction with scientists and operations teams to identify and address workflow bottlenecks.
Provide lab orientation and assist in onboarding new scientists.
Enforce safety practices and good lab hygiene to ensure alignment with Health and Safety
Assist Cellular Engineering with electronic lab notebook (Benchling) support.
Maintain good relationship with sales representatives and technical specialists.
Writing documents and putting together presentations to capture information and communicate updates to CE teams.

Requirements:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in a scientific discipline desired.
2+ years of facilities or lab management experience. Industry experience is strongly preferred.
Experience managing personnel is preferred.
Prior lab experience with biological research is preferred
Exceptional organizational, leadership and communication skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrate initiative and independence - proactively identifying and addressing areas for improvement to optimize lab workflow and increase efficiency.
Adaptability (pivoting and re-prioritizing) is needed in our fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Experience in handling routine laboratory chemicals/biological materials and overseeing lab safety and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Ability to perform physical demands of the role, including lifting boxes, prolonged standing, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.)
Authorized to legally work in the US.
