BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. seeks Associate, Investment Management, Fixed Income Product Strategy in New York, NY to support senior members of the Product Strategy Team in disseminating information on fund positioning, competitive analytics and timely market data. Req's:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Mathematics, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: working with portfolio analytics and synthesizing data for client discussions; ensuring the accuracy of large analytical data sets and providing reporting to portfolio managers; analyzing macro-economic factors and their impact on portfolio risks and investment decisions including derivatives and risk measures; utilizing Excel in order to manipulate data; and utilizing PowerPoint in order to create marketing slides, enhance sale pitch, and update data. This includesworking with product management to plan the implementation of the product roadmapand work through design issues. The Product Manager is also responsible fordesigning the graphical user interface (GUI), work flow and user experience forexisting and new products, and interacting with key stakeholders to validatedesigns and ensure the specifications are properly implemented. This position willgrow to include responsibility for coordinating with the sales and accountmanager team members to achieve higher levels of market penetration, increaserevenue, and improve client retention, by using detailed knowledge of theproducts and its application to target market segments. Additionally, thisposition will provide product demonstrations and communicate key benefits and featuresto multiple client and prospect audiences, including end users. Duties and Responsibilities * Participate in defining product line strategy androadmap, driving organizational alignment, project prioritization and businessdevelopment planning * Work with product management to plan the implementationof the product roadmap * Lead activities involving the design and specificationof a fixed income analytic platform * Lead product management activities focused ondeveloping portfolio risk and attribution models and software * Works with product management on design issues andcollaborates on solutions * Create comprehensive user-interface design andfunctionality/requirements specifications (mockups) on more advanced andanalytic-intensive projects * Interact with key stakeholders including customers,sales and consulting to understand and validate designs prior to programming * Interact with programming and quality assurancedepartments to ensure the design and functionality/requirements specificationsare properly implemented * Adopt product development best practices to enhanceinterface design capabilities * Provide product expertise and advocacy by deliveringpresentations to internal and external customers * Support sales and account management activities byproviding deep fixed income analytical expertise and product knowledge toachieve revenue and retention goals * Create and maintain product demonstration portfolios,presentations and scripts for all market segments * Assist with product marketing efforts by providingdocumentation, training materials and other sales support materials * Provide internal and external product trainingsessions to promote enhanced functionality of products * Ability to identify and communicate client andprospect specific requirements to Product Management * Ability to travel as needed for on-site client andprospect visits and product training and demonstrations Knowledge and Experience * Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business,finance, economics, physical science, or mathematics.
