Position Description

Are you passionate about creating engaging and impactful learning experiences? As an Associate Instructional Designer, you will be an integral part of our Applied Learning team - a dynamic group dedicated to creating innovative learning experiences that empower our global team members to thrive while strategically advancing business needs. Leveraging your expertise in instructional design and adult learning theory, you will collaborate with subject matter experts to create compelling training deliverables that effectively lead to learning transfer and enable team members to excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigation and Analysis: Utilize learning and development frameworks, critical thinking, and communication skills to assist in accurately identifying business needs, creating strong learning objectives, and preparing project plan designs that align with organizational goals.

  • Design and Development: Apply learning theories and instructional design strategies including ADDIE and SAM Models, adult learning theories, training modalities, and learning styles, to translate content into interactive and innovative learning solutions.

  • Technology Integration: Leverage multimedia tools to assist in the development of visually appealing, interactive, and effective learning deliverables within a variety of modalities, including authoring, recording, audio, facilitation, and LMS software.

  • Project Management: Implement effective multi-tasking abilities, appropriate time management, and attention to detail while assisting with project planning and completion, enabling projects to be delivered to customers on time.

  • Effective Collaboration: Utilize strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and proactive support when engaging closely with cross-functional teams and building relationships.

Performance Objectives:

Within your first 30 days:

  • Engage in Applied Medical's culture by participating in organizational training programs.

  • Complete all Applied Learning foundational courses and workshops.

  • Participate in internal Applied Learning team meetings and observe consultations with customers.

  • Learn and familiarize yourself with departmental and organizational processes, systems, and procedures.

Within 60 days:

  • Interface with cross-functional teams to understand our customer needs.

  • Apply strong communication and analytical skills to collaborate with stakeholders and foster relationships.

  • Observe and assist with course development across varied modalities.

Within 90 days to one year:

  • Collaborate with Applied Learning team members to design, develop, and implement various courses for both classroom and online formats.

  • Assist with the needs analysis, design creation, outline, storyboard, review/approval, edits, final view, launch, and evaluation.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with our stakeholders, as well as with fellow team members in Applied Learning, to assist in the continuous development of training programs.

  • Communicate with subject matter experts while tracking their progress and needs throughout the training process to provide a positive and immersive training experience.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of team processes and training programs by collaborating with team members.

Position Requirements

  • One to two years of eLearning or classroom training development experience.

  • Critical thinking skills, a thirst for learning and a natural tendency to ask the right questions to gather information.

  • Enthusiastic team player.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to make quick decisions and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.

  • Exceptional organization and implementation skills.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with Articulate Suite including Storyline and Rise.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Experience with Camtasia.

  • Experience with Audacity.

  • Bachelor's degree.
