Job Description:

Esterline is seeking an Assembly Line Operator to join our CPFL Line.

The position will work directly on Control Panel Flow Line performing a variety of complex technical tasks, assembly, and audits. Will provide support, and follow direction from other Assembly, Engineering Aides and Inspection personnel. This position will have direct contact with, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, Calibration, and Supervision.

Some of the Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs complex assembly operations in a continuous mixed-model flow line environment.

  • Follows standard work instructions in accordance with Engineering drawings to build product per the designed specifications.

  • In-process Inspection of complex assemblies and systems for conformance to drawing and quality standards.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of complex assemblies, assembly tools, tooling, and test equipment associated with production product, upgrades, & reworks.

  • Works from Engineering or Quality drawings, specifications, standards, test procedures, and verbal instructions to determine product or procedure acceptance.

  • Will update, maintain, and improve as agreed upon by team personnel, various Quality or Assembly Engineering documents.

  • Will be responsible for assuring that build and inspection equipment that is calibrated and/or qualified as fit-for-use is used properly and maintained within the Korry Quality System.

  • Will be responsible to perform self-audits of workstation or as directed to ensure compliance to system and specification requirements.

  • May assist Quality Engineers or Assembly Supervisors with design, inspection, and building of inspection tools and test equipment and/or creation of work standards.

  • Understand and live by Esterline's ethics and business conduct policies

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of Assembly experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, prefer two-year technical degree.

  • Knowledge of test equipment preferred.

  • Knowledge of and preferably trained in IPC-610 and/or J-Standards. Soldering skills are a plus.

Basic Work Hours

  • Day Shift Hours Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm

The right person will be working with but limited to: Production Team, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Material Planner, Calibration, and Production Personal. Some of Primary Responsibilities * Must have the ability to use basic to complex inspection measurement equipment to setup and check dimensions and geometric tolerance. * Utilizes knowledge of shop mathematics, blue print reading, geometric tolerance and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) * Utilizes precision measuring equipment (OGP, calipers, micrometers, gauges etc.) visual inspection techniques * Uses computer to document quality records, first article inspection (FAI) reports and job statusing * Determines adherence to engineering and customer specifications, department procedures, and quality standards * Coordinates with management and quality personnel on related product quality problems and expedites solutions in a timely manner * Maintains product quality documentation in compliance with established procedures * Enforces company standards for safety and security regulations, environmental compliance and good shop housekeeping practices Qualifications * Must be able to read, comprehend, and interpret engineering drawings, process specification, and material specifications for complex manufacturing processes * Competent interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols * Experience operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Optical Gauging products (OGP); knowledge of alternative inspection methodologies preferred * Must be extremely attentive to details and have excellent organization and time management skills * Acceptance of change, flexibility and absolute teamwork attitude a must * Experience with ISO/AS9100 procedures and audits a plus * A highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills Education/Previous Experience Requirements * Minimum of two years inspection experience or three years related experience * Two year technical degree preferred; high school degree or equivalent required Basic Work Hours * Day Shift Hours Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm Esterline Technologies Corp Everett WA
