Associates at HW play an integral role in all of the firm's merger and acquisition advisory activities. Associates are expected to be active contributors during every phase of the deal process and are encouraged to handle a high level of responsibility on transaction teams. Associates are developed as industry generalists. In Richmond, Associates work within a variety of industry verticals during their first six months, before dedicating to an industry group. Associates will be responsible for the following:
Major Deal Process Deliverable Creation:
Confidential Information Memorandum
Representing HW throughout the entire deal process
Actively participating in deal team, pitch, and due diligence meetings as well as management presentations
Conducting marketing calls
Internal Firm Roles:
Assisting in the firm's recruiting activities, including interviews and campus events
Participating in marketing teams
Contributing to committees spanning from professional development to standardized firm materials

Selling. Applies knowledge of banking products and services to meet customer needs and enable them to achieve their financial goals. Identifies prospecting approaches to identify potential customers and create opportunities to sell financial solutions and ideas to customers.

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
