Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

Understands and applies concepts of processes, procedures, workflows, and practices required to effectively provide guidance and resolution to employees specific questions in a timely and accurate manner. Inquires may be initiated via phone, email, and/or fax regarding payroll, benefits, leaves of absence, pension, staffing, position management.

Position requires research, analyzing and resolving issues utilizing PeopleSoft and internal reference materials. Tracks all inquires and escalates to other areas within HR Operations when appropriate via case tracking system to maintain accurate documentation of all questions/concerns from employees and retirees for reporting purposes. Ensures all policies and procedures are kept up to date and provides input for ideas and suggestions to improve workflow processes.

Position may work on special projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies

Demonstrated customer service orientation, good verbal and written communication skills, results driven, excellent organization, able to adapt to different communication styles, ability to resolve conflict, analytical, and prioritization skills. Proficient in the following personal computer applications:

Word, Excel, Database, and mainframe applications; email, etc. PeopleSoft system preferred.

Job Summary

Serves as the primary contact to handle and process requests from current and past employees, retirees and internal and external customers regarding questions that are related to payroll, time tracking system, benefits, leaves of absence, compensation, pension, position management and other related areas or HR transactional questions. Gains understanding and knowledge of Travelers HR policies and practices.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge

Post high school education in Human Resources preferred. 1+ years of HR or related customer service experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent required.

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: This position provides strategic leadership and direction to areas of compensation, benefits, HR technology and partners with other areas in HR and as a member of the HR leadership team and throughout the HealthPartners organization. This position is responsible for designing benefits and compensation policies and practices, tools and training, leading implementation of programs and providing support for Regions Hospital and RHSC. This role will identify benefits and compensation needs and develop and implement strategies and implementation plans to meet those needs. Programs are developed and implemented to control costs, are market competitive and improve efficiency to attract and retain qualified employee and are in compliance with applicable state laws and federal regulations. Provides leadership excellence that is aligned with organizational mission, vision, values and strategies. Administers the day to day operations related to FMLA/LOA with vendor and partners with Employee Health and Wellness, HR Business partners and leaders within the organization. Manages the efforts of direct reports and collaborates with, provides guidance to and influences employees and leader partners through effective relationship management. Partners with health and wellness leadership to align health and wellness organizational goals strategically with health and welfare benefits. This position is also responsible for planning and coordinating the processes necessary for HR business operations; managing the set-up and maintenance of Lawson, myTime (API), myLearning (Cornerstone), Service Now, myPartner, and Electronic Performance Management technologies through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: * Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, industrial relations, or related field or 10 additional years of equivalent experience required. EXPERIENCE: * Minimum of five years of progressive professional experience in human resources, policy/procedures related to compensation and benefit programs (i.e. health, dental, retirement) and managing vendor relationships. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Three years previous leadership experience leading small teams or projects or functioning in a team leader or senior professional-level role. * Ability to drive predictable outcomes through management of engaged top-performing workforces * Ability to develop relationships and establish collaborative business partnerships * Ability to align HR practices that reinforce desired culture, balancing the requirements of external customers, business strategy, and engaged employees * Experience in designing human resources technology policy, programs, and tools that align with and support the business strategy. * Experience with Human Resources Technology such as: Lawson/Infor, myTime (API), myLearning (Cornerstone), Service Now, myPartner, and Electronic Performance Management HRIS applications. * Experience with concepts such as Payroll, Benefits, Time & Attendance, Accruals, Leave Management, Employee Scheduling, Attendance Management, and FMLA. * Special knowledge and experience required in project management. * Demonstrated influencing skills that will be effective in a complex, rapidly-moving organization * Working knowledge of federal, state and local statutes, rules and regulations related to compensation and benefit administration * Understanding of standard principles, methods and techniques of classification, compensation and benefit program administration * Strong project management and strategic consulting skills * Strong organization skills, problem solving and negotiation skills * Ability to work conceptually as well as deliver operationally and will possess a strong mix of strategic and operational HR skills * Excellent communication skills; articulate, possessing both credibility and integrity * Ability to analyze information, apply findings to business needs and make sound decisions * Familiarity with Lean, six sigma or other process improvement concepts * Budget/financial management Regions Hospital Saint Paul MN
