Associate Head Coach, Softball

The Associate Head Coach, Softball reports to the Head Softball Coach and is responsible for all aspects of The University of Tulsa's NCAA Division I Softball Program. This position serves the Softball Head Coach on the overall development, leadership, and vision of the softball program at the University of Tulsa. This role will perform as a positive role model for student-athletes in an upbeat environment that strives for academic and athletic excellence and will establish a professional relationship with student-athletes, staff, alumni and the public in an effort to promote the university and its athletic program.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years collegiate coaching experience

• Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills

• Strong self-starter

• Ability to work within the American Athletic Conference

• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

• Ability to work closely with a diverse group of people

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with student-athletes, faculty, coaches and administrators

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Act as a representative on behalf of the Head Coach for all recruiting and donor related functions as needed/ or assigned.

• Assist the head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition

• Serve as a hitting coach or defensive coach

• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes

• Assist the head coach, as directed, in the recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules and university standards

• Assist, as appropriate, in planning and arranging recruiting travel, recruiting calendar, equipment needs; may coordinate personnel and equipment transportation and accommodations

• Establish a productive, well-rounded environment which stresses the importance of academics in conjunction with athletics

• Establish a professional relationship with students, staff, alumni and the general public in an effort to promote the university and its athletics program

• Work closely with athletic training, academics and strength and conditioning to monitor the progress of student athletes

• Support the student-athlete concept by demonstrating concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete

• Work cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel

• Other duties as assigned by Head Softball Coach
