Job Summary

Provides instructional, recruiting and organizational expertise for a Georgia Tech Athletics program, supporting the Head Coach in building an environment that inspires and empowers student athletes to be champions in academics, competition, and life.This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Student athletes, the head coach, assistant coaches (if applicable), staff, Athletic Association administration, external partners, donors, and fans.This position typically will advise and counsel: Student athletes

This position will supervise: Graduate assistants, interns and staff as assigned.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Serve on the leadership team within the unit, providing critical support in all instructional, recruiting and organizational aspects of the sports program.

Job Duty 2 -

Provide support with management and development of program personnel, with responsibilities to include, but not limited to overseeing time off for unit staff, managing time for all unit non-exempt employees, assisting with performance management for program staff and ensuring unit operational needs are being met by staff

Job Duty 3 -

Assist in planning and organizing all phases of recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes for the assigned sport program. Identify and make regular contact with prospective student- athletes that can ultimately succeed academically and help the team accomplish their championship goals.

Job Duty 4 -

Support team philosophy development and strategy implementation. This includes assisting in practice plan design.

Job Duty 5 -

Oversee opponent scouting efforts for the team, assigning staff to opponent team breakdowns, completing breakdowns as necessary, creating video edits, developing scouting reports, providing scouting reports to the staff and team, supporting with in-game opponent analysis and determining team adjustments as needed.

Job Duty 6 -

Assist in planning and supervising programs for player training and conditioning. Support the Head Coach in evaluating individual strengths, evaluating team strengths and developing strategies for skill improvement.

Job Duty 7 -

Assist with scheduling of opponents, identifying future potential opponents that meet GT Athletics Administration criteria and support the game contract management process.

Job Duty 8 -

Under direction, oversee the overall budget management for the sports program and/or monitoring and approving the sports program budget. Serve as sport program signature authority for budgetary items, as assigned. Ensure program expenses are in adherence with all GT Athletics, Georgia Tech and University System of Georgia policies.

Job Duty 9 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications

This position will require work outside of typical business hours as needed. May include, evenings, weekends, and holidays; travel is required.

Required Experience

Four to six years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Previous coaching experience in intercollegiate athletics strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five or more years working with golf students or golf professionals in coaching, teaching or equivalent experience.

• Preferred experience as a Head Coach at a NCAA Division School, NAIA school or High School level for a minimum of one year.

• Demonstratable expertise or awareness of recruiting student-athletes inside and outside of the United States

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS

Ability to energetically communicate the skills and strategy of the sport in which they hold expertise and motivate student athletes; experience and knowledge of the general rules and regulations of their sport; strong organizational, interpersonal, oral communication, and computer skills.
