METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL- Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County

The Department of State Hospitals-Metropolitan is accepting applications for Associate Governmental Program Analyst/Associate Personnel Analyst, permanent/fulltime.

DSH- Metropolitan is seeking a highly motivated self-starter who possesses excellent customer service, analytical and communication skills to work in a fast paced environment.

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) or designee in the Examination and Selection Services Unit of the Human Resources (HR) Department, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA)/Associate Personnel Analyst (APA) performs the more responsible, varied and complex technical work such as provide timely and appropriate personnel management consultation and technical assistance to management and staff and ensuring decisions and actions on selections are consistent with laws, policies, and standards governing the State Civil Service Merit System and meet management needs. The AGPA/APA will support and promote a positive work environment and maintain professional relationships with all levels of staff and stakeholders of Department of State Hospitals (DSH). All Selection Services staff are expected to do some travel and occasional work on weekends.

Interested candidates who have good attendance, punctuality, the ability to work well with others and knowledge of modern office methods, equipment and applications, California State Personnel and Civil Service laws, rules and regulations and Human Resources experience are highly desired. Willing to consider Associate Personnel Analyst. Duties will reflect the appropriate position candidate is hired into.

Note: The Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility list may be used as an appropriate for the Associate Personnel Analyst. Candidates with Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility must also meet the minimum qualifications for the Associate Personnel Analyst classification in order to be eligible for appointment.

Opened in 1916, DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital is in the vibrant community of Norwalk,15 miles east of Los Angeles. To the south are entertainment venues like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, the marinas and beaches of Huntington, Newport and Laguna.

To the west are Palos Verdes and Marina Del Rey. DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital has an open campus within a security perimeter. The hospital operates approximately 826 beds.
