You will negotiate and structure consumer lending programs to meet people where they need financing, with an engaged and committed credit team.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Advise on consumer lending regulations and regulations

  • Manage external counsel to document credit products and meet regulatory requirements

  • Continuously anticipate and identify potential legal and regulatory risks and work in cross-disciplinary teams to reduce those risks

  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required

The successful candidate will possess solid verbal and written communication skills, pragmatism, objectivity, and business instincts. Comfort with varied viewpoints and ability to synthesize regulatory requirements with operational capabilities will support a growing business. Delegating work to external counsel and operating in a matrixed environment will be important qualities for the successful candidate. Prior experience at a prudential regulator, or as external counsel admitted to practice in New York or California desired.

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree and license to practice in any U.S. jurisdiction
  • 6+ years of experience in consumer lending with a law firm or financial regulator, or financial institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial banks

  • Experience working with multiple financial regulators

  • Admitted to practice in California or New York

  • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
