Facebook's AR/VR business, including Building 8 and Oculus, bring together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We are looking for a highly motivated Associate General Counsel, Hardware Operations who will be responsible for providing tactical and working-level legal counsel across Building 8 and Oculus projects. You will interact closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel and innovative products in an exciting environment. This is a full-time position based in Menlo Park, CA.


  • Be the lead attorney supporting hardware technical operations and supply chain

  • Manage, counsel and advise on a broad range of arrangements and agreements across hardware operations and supply chain, including support of contract manufacturing, technical operations, strategic relationships and procurement

  • Ability to easily identify, manage and mitigate complex hardware and supply matters

  • Lead client support and provide strategic business and legal advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with key partners

  • Manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure

  • Actively collaborate with clients, other teams within Legal, and cross-functional teams across the company to coordinate on the above matters

  • Thrive, innovate and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

  • Manage and lead training

Minimum Qualifications

  • J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar

  • 8+ years of experience with hardware operations

  • Experience adapting to changing priorities and organizational needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house experience with hardware technology companies

  • Experience leading support for hardware operations
