Job Description:
The Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking hard working, responsible, motivated candidates for an entry-level, associate position supporting Athletics Academic Services. This position will be exposed to professional aspects of collegiate athletics academic development activities in a progressive learning mode.
Preparing and scheduling academic support services
Assessing at-risk student needs
Preparing progress reports
Engaging in meetings with students and coaches
Monitoring academic status
Handling academic projects
Establishing and maintaining an environment conducive to the welfare, personal development and academic success of the student-athletes
Establishing and maintaining effective interactions with students, colleagues, university coaches and staff, and the public
Commitment to learning and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA
The successful candidate must possess effective communication and multi-tasking skills, ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality, and be highly organized. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Position Details: Structured similar to a post-grad internship. $28,000/year plus overtime pay; receives paid time off; full benefits package.
