Job Description:

RxCrossroads by McKesson is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Technician in Louisville, KY; a role which supports the High Volume Solutions (HVS) Automation System unique to McKesson. We are looking for a skilled individual to perform production maintenance on the HVS Automation System. Examples include calibration tasks, adjustments to system components, instruments, sub-assemblies, final assemblies, routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical functions associated with the HVS Automation System. Will work with the HVS Customer Service Support team on equipment and/or device repairs to ensure system functionality is maintained at the highest level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide dedicated support to the Distribution Center's Pharmacy Operations, ensuring the HVS System is fully operational during established production times

  • Work in cooperation with onsite IT representatives as well as HVS Customer Support Representatives to address specific needs as they arise

  • Ability to measure voltage and current accurately and safely and to use this data to troubleshoot circuits

  • Mechanical experience with aligning bearings, shafts and drives

  • Adjust tension of belts and chains

  • Develop an overall maintenance schedule based on the requirements of each device

  • Ability to analyze cards and chips and replace if necessary

  • Troubleshoot network systems, barcode scanners

  • Troubleshoot cabling and I/O devices

  • Configure and troubleshoot IBM compatible computers

  • Isolate failures and faults; repair problems including mechanical, electrical, robotics, electronics, and computer systems specific to the HVS Automation System

  • Provide general support to distribution center operations as business needs dictate.

  • Ability to work with control circuits using devices such as photo-eyes, solenoid valves, limit switches, indicating lights and safety switches

  • Understand and promote McKesson's ICARE principles

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Electrical:

  • Trained to work with 460, 220, 120 VAC and 24 volt DC circuits

  • Knowledge and understanding of motor starting circuits and power distribution circuits

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and evaluate operations based on these schematics

Mechanical:

  • Align bearings, shafts, and drives

  • Adjust tensions of belts and chains

  • Ability to identify worn or damaged parts and to replace them

  • Develop an overall maintenance schedule based on the requirements of each device

  • Lubricate, oil, and clean devices as specified in their maintenance manuals

  • Work with pneumatic circuits involving cylinders and solenoid valves

Computer:

  • Maintain/replace printers

  • Analyze cards and chips and replace if necessary

  • Troubleshoot network (ethernet) systems

  • Troubleshoot cabling and I/O devices

  • Ability to setup and analyze RS232/RS422 communications between computers or

computer and peripheral devices

  • Work with network, routers, switches and integrating equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

SCHEDULE- M-F 12:30pm-9pm

  • 2+ years of experience with technical component maintenance

  • 2+ years of experience in a production environment

  • High level of dedication, reliability and availability to perform job requirements

  • Discretionary, decisive and organized thinking regarding best practices

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Flexibility to meet changing business demands and situations

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with customers, employees, and suppliers

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Associates degree or equivalent certification preferred
  • A+ and/or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification (good to have)

Working Conditions

  • Environment (manufacturing / warehouse)

  • Production environment

  • Closely monitored and legally compliant regulations

  • The position will not require travel

General Requirements (e.g., lifting, standing for extended periods, climbing)

  • Standing and walking frequently throughout shift

  • Required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, crouch or crawl

  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs

  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime
