What You Will Do

Oversees plans and performs timely and appropriate maintenance, installation and rearrangement of equipment and/or machinery and ensures company compliance with various regulatory guidelines.


  • Plans, inspects and performs on-going repair, preventive maintenance and facilities related activities.

  • Plans, coordinates and assists in facilities rearrangement, relocation and renovation projects.

  • Will be required to work from machinery manuals and/or schematics.

  • Will be required to comply with documentation procedures/requirements.

  • Will work from verbal instructions.

  • Will train others on maintenance and/or safety/regulatory compliance issues.

  • Will test, repair and maintain a wide range of new and older pieces of equipment/machinery using considerable independent judgment to ensure quality, correct parts and/or proper procedures are being used.

  • Will interact with vendors telephonically and in person to evaluate, diagnose and/or repair machinery/equipment and/or processes.

  • May negotiate with vendors and/or recommend equipment, products and/or supplies.

  • Will perform various facility audits and/or systems tests to ensure compliance with governmental standards/regulations (e.g. OSHA, EPA, ANSI, GMP, etc.).

  • May coordinate the activities of 1 or more maintenance employees.

  • May evaluate the performance of 1 or more employee based on pre-established performance parameters.

  • May be responsible for subordinate compliance with company policy and corrective actions.

  • May coach and develop subordinates.

  • May supervise outside contractors.

What you need

  • A.A.S./B.S. in engineering technology or a related curriculum.

  • 2 years technical school, apprenticeship

  • Advanced blueprint/schematic reading.

  • Ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, etc.), power tools and test equipment.

  • Advanced math, measuring and writing skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.

  • Lock out/Tag out.

  • Hazard communication.

  • Fork lift operation.

  • Preventive maintenance system.

  • Hazardous waste disposal.

  • Housekeeping/safety audits.

  • GMP.

  • Offsite machine maintenance courses.

  • Boiler operation.

  • Clean room owning.

  • ISO.

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-05T00:00 POSITION SUMMARY The Aseptic Value Stream Product Support / Mfg Engineer will work within the Aseptic Value Stream to support manufacturing operations and identify and implement efficiency, safety, quality and/or cost improvements (CIP's) on equipment and processes. * Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and possesses the ability to analyze aseptic formulation, filling, and freeze dry processes for reproducibility, ruggedness, and root cause failure. * Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions. * Ability to work in cross-functional teams to support the value-stream operation with a focus on deliverables, timelines, and meeting customer expectations. * Lead and author deviation investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. * Execute validation and line trials to support projects, including the authoring of change control documents. * Assist with the authoring of batch records, protocols and SOPs. * Technical writing skills are required. * Self-starter requiring minimal supervision to complete tasks essential. * Training with current SME will be available based on candidates skill set. * Facility support may be required during non-routine hours. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * BS Degree in Chemical Engineering / related field * 3+ years of experience in aseptic manufacturing, filling and lyophilization desired. Lyophilization experience is preferred. * Leadership: knowledgeable of basic leadership principles * Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication * Computer Skills: Microsoft Applications * Work Environment: Office environment, with frequent time in the manufacturing area. Use of hearing and eye protection is required.
