Location: New York

The Associate Event Manager, Hospitality and Events, Workplace Services, will support Salesforce NY Campus. This position can expect direct interaction with executives, customers and partners, lead event planning development and execution in support of Salesforce's HQ campus. This individual will work closely with hospitality, facilities, and marketing teams.

  • The position is responsible for the operational excellence for our events and the holistic guest experience including but not limited to: executive receptions, partner events, non-profit events and employee events

  • Solid people management skills to lead, educate and motivate a team

  • Strong customer service and executive interaction experience

  • Ability to multi task many events and projects at one time

  • Understand Salesforce brand and product positioning with the ability to ensure consistent, on-brand messaging

  • Communicate regular event updates to management including Executive leadership

  • Continuous improvement and maintain global team documents and or playbooks for events

  • Ability to be consultative with clients looking to host events at HQ and possess strong public speaking skills

  • Pre, onsite and post event logistical management

  • Key Stakeholder for G-Cal calendar management for internal event space

  • Determine event goals, create and track measurements and metrics including event surveys

  • Co-manage external relationships (agencies, vendors) and work with internal teams; Sales, Real Estate creative team, Facilities, Employee Engagement, and Salesforce. Org and Office of Equality to support direct efforts and collaborate closely to develop and successfully execute programs

  • Research and report creative event options and entertainment based on program format and budget

Required Skills:

  • 7 years successful event management experience planning customer centric events, in a B2B, high-tech, fast-paced environment

  • 3+ years of strong people management expertise

  • Possess strong customer service experience; candidates with a solid events background and are highly personably and service focused

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to manage multi projects at a given time w/a high level of expertise and skill

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills, with the ability to proactively address client's needs

  • Experience in managing budgets, financial planning, tracking, analysis and reporting

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to creatively negotiate demands

  • Results-oriented, customer driven, organized with attention to detail

  • Ability to assess and prioritize workload in a strict deadline oriented environment

  • Thrive on teamwork and overcoming obstacles

  • Experience with on-line registration systems and reporting

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed - evenings and weekends

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is necessary

As the Event Marketing Manager, you'll be project lead on our premiere client events like DASH 2019 (dashcon.io), Datadog's action-packed, two day conference here in NYC! You'll be driving project incentives for creative marketing tactics and generating new business for the world's #1 data monitoring and analytics platform. Want to be a part of the engine behind its continued success? You will: * Act as project lead for DASH from start to finish, including pre and post event logistics * Assist in the creation and execution of global Datadog Community Events such as conferences, workshops, roadshows, and curated specialty events * Own the event infrastructure and product responsibilities; production elements including exhibitor properties, AV, furniture rentals, wifi, travel logistics, swag, venue research, additional vendor research as necessary * Oversee vendor RFP process for the entire event including negotiating, sourcing competing vendors, etc. * Manage and track event budgets, expenses, KPI's and ROI, and report to them to marketing leadership * Support event ticket sales and sponsorship sales including direct messaging and partnering with teams to create collateral and messaging to sell event tickets and sponsorships * Maintain sponsor relationships after they have been contracted to Sponsor DASH * Work cross functionally with teams to ensure events are on brand, on message, and attracting the right audience Requirements: * At least 5 years of event management experience planning large scale customer centric events, in a high-tech, fast-paced environment * Strong negotiation skills and ability to keep costs within budget * Data and results driven * Ability to multitask and manage several vendors and logistics at once * Excellent communication skills * Strong writing and presentation skills * Team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to problem solve * Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and professionally * Proven ability to manage changing priorities, think on your paws and are comfortable being the leader of the pack.
