Job Description:

The Associate Equipment engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing processes, equipments, fixtures and developing best practices to reduce equipment downtime. He/She must determine, order and maintain spares/fixtures and tooling required for maintenance and improvements. In addition, the Associate Equipment Engineer will sustain the manufacturing floor during operation, repairs, installs, upgrades and unplanned/planned events. He/She will focus and drive yield improvement for his/her areas of ownership. The candidate must be highly innovative and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast paced, creative environment within a multidisciplinary team. This job will be done on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. The ideal candidate will be expected to work any of the aforementioned shifts and be flexible (able to adjust shift when needed and able to work on unscheduled days in case of need). Minimal traveling will be required (For example: training trips, Site Acceptance trips at vendors).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform on time preventative maintenance of multiple toolsets and write the corresponding procedures and checklists

  • Manage spare parts for PMs

  • Respond to repair requests from the floor

  • Write corresponding OCAPs/CAPAs/RFCs/BKMs for said repairs and unplanned events (tool/equipment errors, Facilities issues)

  • Sustain the equipments and processes by tracking and understanding % Downtime (Planned & Unplanned), MTBA/MTBF/MTBI, Cpks, %OOC, %OOD, %Rework, %Scrap, Yield

  • Review SPC and P chart trends on a daily/shiftly basis and responding to OOCs and OOS points and trend shifts

  • Crosstrain in several process and equipment areas

  • Perform fixture ordering and write the corresponding procedures; and develop Kanbans and visual aids

  • Work with the Manufacturing Information System team to build needed Apps and reports

  • Perform fixture rework and write the corresponding procedures; and develop Kanbans

  • Perform and manage the rotation of fixtures and write the corresponding procedures; ; and develop Kanbans

  • Work with the Operations team, Engineers and Technicians to qualify new fixtures

  • Characterize all fixtures

  • Collect data to determine and schedule fixture lifetime and replacements

  • Document and report results of maintenance activities (0% overdue scheduled maintenance)

  • Develop a roadmap for improvements and deliver said improvements (Yield, Planned Downtime, Unplanned Downtime, MTBA/F/I, Excursion reduction etc)

Qualifications:

  • High volume Manufacturing Experience in Hightech or a technical field

  • Preventative and Corrective Maintenance Handson Expertise

  • Expertise in writing SOPs, Work Instructions, Checklists, OCAPs/CAPAs/RFCs/BKMs/Troubleshooting guides

  • Gage study knowledge

  • Equipment calibration and reliability testing knowledge

  • Attention to Details and self-started

  • Active Participation in Safety

  • CAD, Solidworks, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and Rework/Repair expertise a plus

  • MS Office suite knowledge: Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Access

  • Robot and PLC handson, Machine I/O Board, Robot maintenance, Pump, motor, hydraulics, knowledge a plus

  • Spares management knowledge

  • Lean manufacturing,5S, Workplace Organization knowledge

  • Knowledge of statistics, statistical process control, Cpk, %OOC, JPM,Anova Analysis, DOE, SQL a plus

  • Knowledge of FMEA for equipment and process a plus

Education:

  • Minimum Associate degree in a technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Preferred BS/MS or BE/ME in a technical field with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience
