Job Description:Summary:

Substation Engineering is responsible for the application, design, and documentation of electrical equipment within Substations on the Distribution and Transmission system within the Eversource-NH system. Responsibilities include designing the installation of circuit breakers, reclosers, fuses, switches, transformer and ancillary equipment.

Supporting the development and maintenance of electrical system data within the Cascade and Thermal Rating system. Functioning as an active and responsible project team member executing the substation team's responsibilities and work in a collaborative team effort to accomplish the project's and Eversource's goal and objective.

Typical assignments involve detailed design of equipment installation, development, review or modifications to equipment material specification, layouts, safety considerations, working clearance and ordering material.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Other requirements include strong analytical/computer skills, and an aptitude for detailed engineering.

The ideal candidate will also have a power engineering background, and be familiar with substation engineering concepts and principles. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. Will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.

The Civil/Highway Engineer will have the opportunity to support both local and national key projects, will work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects with airport authorities on Federally, State DOTs, regional, and locally funded airport improvement and development projects, and will take on the following responsibilities: * Assist with civil /airport, drainage/stormwater, and utility and traffic engineering designs of transportation networks and systems infrastructure. * Apply civil engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various project phases involving transportation engineering works including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction and operation. * Obtain project data and information concerning transportation engineering works and requirements including drawings, specifications, project cost information, etc. * Assist in the preparation of reports documenting all findings, conclusions and recommendations resulting from the analysis. * Perform all other duties that may be requested by the Transportation Engineering and/or Airport Division Manager.
