Substation Engineering is responsible for the application, design, and documentation of electrical equipment within Substations on the Distribution and Transmission system within the Eversource-NH system. Responsibilities include designing the installation of circuit breakers, reclosers, fuses, switches, transformer and ancillary equipment.
Supporting the development and maintenance of electrical system data within the Cascade and Thermal Rating system. Functioning as an active and responsible project team member executing the substation team's responsibilities and work in a collaborative team effort to accomplish the project's and Eversource's goal and objective.
Typical assignments involve detailed design of equipment installation, development, review or modifications to equipment material specification, layouts, safety considerations, working clearance and ordering material.
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Other requirements include strong analytical/computer skills, and an aptitude for detailed engineering.
The ideal candidate will also have a power engineering background, and be familiar with substation engineering concepts and principles. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. Will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.
